I am off to Poole in september with hubby and a 1 yr old baby. Any advice on what there is to do. We are staying at a caravan park but wont be going to the entertainment because of the little one.
All answers really appreciated. I ve never been past London before so really looking forward to it.

My OH is from poole
In terms of what there is for you with your little one theres some lovely beaches round poole & bournemouth. hopefully the weather will still be OK then.
Youll also hopefully catch the last of the season at Farmer Palmers Farm Park
http://www.farmerpalmers.co.uk/:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
go to lilliput/sandbanks - lovely round that area - then hop onto the little car ferry over to studland - one of the best beaches in the area - the whole area is a concervation area and the beaches are all national trust to if you do go and take your car then become a member so you get free parking0

Chesil Beach is near there, also Lulworth Cove (remember those from geography lessons?), the Tolpuddle Martyrs exhibition (very interesting) - loads of pretty villages, Weymouth, Poole pottery (you can make your own pot!), historic city of Dorchester. Also on the drive down you pass close to Stonehenge - well worth a detour. I loved it there, loads to see and do.

Rockley Park by any chance?
If the weather is good go to Sandbanks and sit on the beach.
Poole Park and watch the wildlife and take a trip on the miniature railway.
Sit on Poole Quay and people watch.
Hamworthy Park and watch the boats in the natural harbour.
Phone Poole Tourism on 01202 253253 and ask for the Poole Guide and Eat Out brochure.0 -

Agree with all the above, its lovely down here!
The beaches are the main thing obviously, but then there are the Purbecks with Corfe Castle which is a lovely area. Farmer Palmers is very child friendly and you can introduce little one to the animals. There is also a Heavy Horse Centre, but can't quite remember where!
Moors Valley is just up at Ringwood, country walks, land trains, wooded trails and the New Forest.
Brownsea Island is in the middle of the harbour and there are regular boat trips across, lots of wildlife and you can amble around and sit on the beach.
If you go to Sandbanks take a walk around the peninsula and ogle the houses! Just don't get depressed that you don't have £5million to spend
Feed the ducks in Poole Park, my step son used to love doing that.
Have fun0 -
We went there on hol last year & are going back this year nearby.
Between Bournemouth & poole are Alum Chine & Branksome Chine - lovely beaches there (and a nice walk down the chines in the shade of the trees). By the main Bournemouth beach there is a nice park which had lots going on last summer when we were there.
The facilities are excellent and very clean. There are plenty of toilets and baby change facilities at the beaches by the chines. There is a lovely big but shallow paddling pool at the bottom of Alum chine by the beach (cleaned every day) which wold be nice for your one year old to try. There is a play park right next to that too & also a land train that goes along the prom which you can get on & off from there. Car park & on street parking nearby too.
Sandbanks is great to watch the windsurfers - free & relaxing!
Enjoy!MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0 -

The open-top bus takes this route across ferry past Studland and down to Swanage which is a traditional Uk seaside resort with good costal walks in both directions. From Swanage you can take a Steam Train to Corfe Castle. Romantic views of the ruined castle (National Trust) from the National Trust Tea Rooms or if you are in need of liquid refreshment the pub nearby. Wareham is the next village on with a little quayside and a couple of pubs. Boat also go up the river to Wareham in the summer from Poole quay(dependant on tides). Arne a few miles from Wareham is also good for walks and is generally very quiet.
Weymouth is a good day trip and although a typical seaside place has a pretty harbour and a good Beach. Also Ferries from here to the Channel Islands.0 -

Rockley Park is ok. I was up there the other day. Good views across the harbour. Caravans are all modern. Plenty of entertainment, swimming pool etc.
Goto Google maps and zoom right into Rockley Park using the satellite imagery. Will give you an idea of location and proximity to Poole.
Couple of good fish n chip shops on the way to Poole from Rockley.
BTW Primarks is quite big in Poole town centre.0
