Contract ending, where did all the good cashback deals go?
This will be my 7th year of cashback contracts and not paying for my mobile phone.
However I'm looking around and can't find any good (read free
) deals.
Need 400 mins and some internet and hope to pay little to nothing.
Am I asking for too much?
Mobilejunkie or grumbler or anyone else, where do you go these days?

I need neither 400m, nor a new handset. Migrated to Ovivo last week.0

I buy the deals and not the need. Whilst I'm down to just 6 current contracts, they give me far more minutes/texts/mb than i need and it will be some time before i have to actually PAY anything. Whenever the deals come back, I will fill my boots again. It is always a big mistake to wait until the contract ends before looking for another; there were some VERY good deals mid-way through the year, so yuo should have grabbed them while they were there.
Currently, you'd have to actually end up paying at least £4 a month on a basic phone to get anywhere near your needs. I could search, but that takes time and I only do that for people I order for. However, I watch closely for good deals daily and right now there aren't any (in terms of my own definition, which is where they pay me rather than the other way round!).0 -

Can you explain how they pay you?0 -

I do cashback deals where they pay me virtually all (and sometimes all) of the line rental. Sometimes I can downsize part way through and make a profit (though that is unusual) but I also generally sell the phones immediately and make a profit that way. I also get cashback for ordering (more profit) and usually price match the cashback to increase it. Apart from spending nothing on my land line for years (I have far more mobile minutes than I need) there is another way to make a profit as well - but some things are best kept to myself.0

Best I could see.
300 mins ultd texts 250mb £17 per month with the Nokia Asha 300.
£205 Cashback through deal
£60 Cashback Quidco
£60 sale value of the phone.
Works out as £3.46 per month 24 month0
