Australia's immigration policy and welocmming those who that skills and resource is admired accross the wrold and it's precisly the model we require. Don't you get tired of congestion and the demand on the NHS etc?
Just building more infrastructure will never deal with demand. The M25 lead to more congestion as more people are drawn to increased infrastructure.
You could build 10,000 miles more road and 5 m houses. All that would happen is we'd get even more migrants.
As to young adults, proper apprenterships are at an all time high.
Encouraging them to be more responsible and stand on thier own two feet will benefit society in many ways.0 -

I dispute that theya re proper apprenticeships more glorified YTS of the 80s for most.
Subsidised labour.
Apprenticeships 'should last a year', report says
But there are concerns about quality, with some as short as three months....
In his review, Mr Richard says "apprenticeships or the notion of them are popular", but that this has led to many things being called apprenticeships which, in fact, are not....
"Simply enough, not all instances of training on a job are apprenticeships," he says....
This comes after numerous complaints that some agencies and businesses have been offering low grade apprenticeships that only last for a few weeks or even months, in exchange for cheap labour and government funding.

Apprenticeships should to lead to recognised professional qualifications and train individuals to effectively undertake complex roles as a skilled person.
I don't doubt there are a few individual schemes around that could be classed as "real" apprenticeships but these are still no more than trained technicians in many cases.

I get very tired of the left constantly pointing the blame finger at nasty global corporations.
!
Why is left wing to think of the bigger picture? You will no doubt show me those nice corporations that put the good of society firmly ahead of profit in their balance sheet. Not token gestures.
Have you seen the price of malaria tablets !!!!!!, hardly a ground breaking, cutting edge drug, but that will those nice pharmaceutical companies looking after us."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Some things by their nature can only be viably produced by global corporations -- motor vehicles being the prime example. Past attempts to manage everything by the state, allegedly for the benefit of the people as a whole, have been abandoned as abject failures -- eg the Soviet Union and Maoist China. So the majority of people accept that capitalism for all its flaws is the least worst option. The hard left for some reason, despite the evidence and lessons of history staring them in the face, cannot or will not see it.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

The world might be linked but its not fixed, they can always unhook this junk

More interlinked that you may realise.
In terms of your daily life and the things that you take for granted.0 -

My question to myself. Is where social unrest will break out first?
A good point but a supplementary question is perhaps, how will social unrest manifest itself in times of austerity. A riot is easy to spot but more subtle forms of civil disobedience could also happen. Equally if enough of the "haves" start baiting the "have nots" this could lead covert vandalism against the property of the "haves".Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
US they don't waste
Apparently they do, 50% of the GDP is government. 90% of housing debt is being backed by gov, quite a few are not paying anything for housing as due process awaits government doctrine.
In a few ways possibly USA has become more left wing socialised in its budgeted spending then Europe ?
The extremes beside federal taxes varies by state I think, some charge no income taxes and no sales taxes but in others the residents are sometimes paying out over half their income.
That might be ok but its the debt that really represents some of the greatest waste as no one suffers immediately, its unchecked without protest.
16tn / usa population is $40k each they owe ?
1tn/ UK pop is roughly $23k or £14k we owe ?
I reckon they are worse off then excluding gold assets or other debt etc0
