    Take the car to a Federation of Automatic Transmission Engineers member:

    My Dad had a fault with his bucket o crud A-Class. The Merc dealer quoted £5,500 for a new gearbox. We took it to King Automatics in Epsom (a fedauto member) and they replaced the valve body for £1,300.

    As mentioned you need a proper transmission specialist. Where they do gearboxes only and not much else.

    Get proper advice from them.

    P0894 = Transmission Component Slipping

    Is it losing speed, Or the revs going a little bit higher when its doing it? Does it only do it when cold or only when hot?

    Its a CVT so doesn't have 'gears'. Where is the screeching coming from? It might be a belt thats slipping.

    What year, model, etc is the A Class as well as I dont think thats been mentioned yet.
