Stop RSPCA euthanasing animals in care

I never give to the RSPCA and I never will. Years ago (and this isn't hearsay) one of our cats fell onto spiked railings. The railng pierced his groin and stopped just short of internal organs. We knew nothing about it until later in the morning a neighbour who lived a few houses away came to tell us what had happened. In the meantime he had rang the RSPCA told them what had happened and they point blank refused to come out. They told him to "Find the owner" This was while our poor cat was still hanging on the spike as the neighbour didn't want to take the cat off in case more damage was caused. He told the RSPCA he didn't know who the cat belonged to. They put the phone down on him. The neighbour eventually found us and told us what had happened, needless to say we were fuming. RSPCA? You must be joking. I hate them. Mind you they probably would have turned up if a camera had been available.0

This thread breaks my heart.
There are many issues to this debate and I don't really know where I stand on it.
But I do know this. I donated to the RSPCA by direct debit monthly for years. In that time I called them on numerous occasions and they NEVER did anything, ever. Now I don't doubt that they have limited resources, but sorry, you're not getting my money when so many others do more with less. I cancelled my direct debit.
I am sick and tired of the dogs and cats advertised on numerous web sites....... New baby/moving house/new job/changed work hours means they can no longer keep their pet. I'm sorry, but you wouldn't rehome your child for these reasons!
I am happy to say that every dog who has come to live with me has come FOR LIFE. With some dogs I have had, they have had behavioural issues which have made life difficult, but I worked hard with them to sort out their problems. I pay a dog walker to come in to my lot when I'm out and she said to me the other day "I wish all dog owners were like you". My dogs have their own room, and last week I ripped out the laminate and had carpet fitted because my arthritic oldies were struggling to walk on it. If I have to replace it every 12 months then so be it. I would rather spend £30 at the vets to be told there's nothing to worry about than risk it. There have been times in the past when I had little money and I went without food so that my dogs could still have a quality diet. I would do anything for my dogs. If they need something, they get it. Simple as.
I would go without before my dogs did. I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone could be cruel to an animal. I could never 'get rid' of any of mine - the thought of it makes me feel sick. I wish people would just give more thought to it before they run out and get the latest fashionable dog or get a kitten because the kids are nagging them.
Anyway, I'm off for a cuddle with my girlies. They cheer me up like no one else can.0
