Red water bill on an estimated reading!!!!

Options
I received a Red water bill on Saturday saying I owed them £3 on an estimated bill is this common practice as everytime the water meter person reads my meter I always seem to have been over estimated.
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun

  • do your own reading, if they match then just pay the £3 if not let the water company know and they will send another bill

I can't read my own meter as its down a hole on the street front and only the water meter people have a key to open it.

I've spoke to them before about this matter but they always say just ignore the bill.

You don't need a key, it is not a lock only a slot that needs something inserting in it to lift it, a screwdriver will open it.

I think I might ring and ask for them to come out and check it, I don't fancy shoving something down the hole as I'm not good at them things.

You don't have to, lift the lid with a screwdriver move the polystyrene frost cover under it if it is there, and look at the meter, nothing difficult about it.

If you can open a cupboard, then you can read your water meter.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
