Staying in a Quad room

Hi,

We are staying at a hotel in a City in England, which allows for two adults and two children. I was wondering if it would be OK if we took along three children (one over 16) and two adults in one Quad room. Are they even likely to check?

It is a large 4 star chain hotel.

    Hotels have different policies.

You need to ask them really.

Dont be surprised though if they tell you you have to book a single room. Are there any suites you could book.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

No there aren't. Surely they wouldn't check anyways?

Some hotels really against it - seems though Premier Inns as long as you sort out sleeping arrangements happy to let you get on with it.

Well if you have booked for 4 and want to take five and they find out, they could just as easily chuck you all out and just give you time to pack.

Presumably it isnt Premier Inn if its a four star hotel

Best to check with them before hand to save any embarrassment.

It really depends on the hotel. Usually, over 16s are classed as adults,

So why did you book a quad room if you needed accommodation for 5

I would say OP booked a quad room as family rooms for 5 are like gold dust unfortunately. The odd hotel with quad room has let us take our own blow up bed and bedding. And of course Premier Inn isnt 4 star but perfect for a cheapie family weekend.

Its impossible to get a 5 room! If Premier Inn allows it, I might cancel and book a room there instead.

Can't see them letting you TBH.

They have legal restrctions they have to adhere to, for things like insurance and fire regs, thats why they state a max of 4 people.

I wouldn't try not telling them either, it could end up with not allowing you to have the room on arrival.

Why try to be underhand, when most of the time, companies will try and accomodate you with adjoining rooms etc?

As long as all 5 of you don't check in together and you don't all walk up together I'm sure you'll get away with it.

    I wouldn't tell them

    And what about fire regs.

If theres a fire and they get 4 out, thinking that's all there is in the room, well you know the possible consequences.

You still havent said why you booked a quad room when there were 5 of you.

    yes, do not try this,

I am sure you can get five people into a quad room without paying extra, I dont want to read the news if and when there is a fire, and dont assume it wont happen, as it will happen somewhere, someday. Smuggling people in to save £50-£100 or whatever on a second room is foolish (and surely 2 rooms is better than one for FIVE people!)
