I used to work in the Land Rover complaints and the the depreciation value is eye watering! Its all well and good buying one of those vehicles, but it will cost and arm and an leg to run them and the waiting times to get the parts for repair is annoying!
I have never had a customer state that they live in the mountains when they owned one of these vehicles, they mainly lived in the city and never once has a single tread on the tyre crossed an off-road area!DEBTFREE AND PROUD!!0 -
Thanks very much for all your comments.
Yes you can sell the car to the trade and they will clear the finance and pay you the rest.
It is outwith the 14 days but as Apples2 says that releases you from the finance with the effect that you need to pay the balance.
I really like this car and know by what has happened to two or three mates of mine that I could be dead tomorrow and you can't take it with you.
I will take on board all your comments and come to a decision in a few days.
MarcoSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
You researched this for two years and now all of a sudden it doesn't feel right?
It sounds like massive drain on your finances to me and if it means you cannot save then thats even worse.
Get rid, take the hit and buy something you can afford?0 -
We buy any car have offered £37715 for it valid for seven days.
If this is straight off their website, expect a real offer of about £33k when they see the car.
Rangies are nice vehicles, however what most people don't realise is that the vast majority of people you see swanning around in these have them on a business lease of 12-24 months. They haven't bought them.
Where else do you think the massive stocks of 1-2 year old Range Rovers at the dealers come from?
Also, approx 60% of new cars on the road are currently bought by company fleets at present.
You need to do the calcs before you make purchases like this.
I spent £25k (less £7k trade-in) on a 6-month old Merc C220 Sport estate. The finance costs me about £350 per month and then there is the maintenance, RFL, insurance, tyres brake discs/pads etc.
I do about 30-40k miles per year, mostly business miles and fortunately I get a car allowance, all fuel and tax relief on those business miles.
By the time I come to trade in at 3-4 years, the car will be at break even (touch wood) - no overall cost to me for ownership and running.
If I was paying for the car myself, I wouldn't have anything so nice!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I am very happy with my Kia C'eed 1.6 diesel car. It gets me around in comfort, has a good acceleration to beyond the national speed limit and starts up every time.
I just cannot understand the obsession of some people to have a flash car that costs a huge wedge (to the individual or a business), depreciates quickly and drinks fuel excessively. My wife and I have access to funds that would have enabled us to buy a far more expensive car but I just can't see the point in doing so.0 -
Eeek! Talk about buyers remorse! I know what it's like when i've spent £150 on a pair of shoes, but Christ!0

Hi mate
i feel for you hope you get it sorted, id go back to the garage/finance company
As for WE BUY ANY CAR, id stay well away, thier website intices you in with really good qoutes on what they will pay, in reality its totally different, you'll probably get a offer (when the guy comes out) of £27k maybe 30k if your lucky!!
Honestly, biggest cowboys ever!0 -
The technical term is "Post Purchase Dissonance"
I have a nasty feeling that the WBAC "offer" will not prove to be their final offer!0 -
Hmmm, a decent car ?
A decent car to me, is one that gets me from A to B as cheaply as possible. My car does 400 miles on a full tank of petrol (about £45) and costs £20 per year to tax. My fully comprehensive insurance is £295 a year. Might not be as fast as a bigger car but i can live with that.
Might not make my neighbours green with envy, but i love it
Unless you live up a mountain track, i can't see the point in 4 wheel drive vehicles.0 -
hope you get this sorted! not a fun situation to be in really0
