sad isnt it, that people cant just post a 'well done' comment and then move on.
Just ignore those people, they dont seem to be able to be happy for anyone.
They are probably jealous of your pay rise.0 -
Thanks to the posters who congratulated me and wished me well, I wish you all well too.
I genuinely mean that. DEBTFREE AND PROUD!!0 -
How wonderful Good for you x0

Well done OP, sometimes making the hard choice often works out best.
Ignore the moaners...Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Really happy for you, i found your post quite inspirational. Sometimes we just need to take a leap of faith. No one knows whats around
the corner and life is too short to be unhappy. You work to live not live to work. All thae best and have a lovely christmas0 -
Well done to you for that. I did a similar thing a couple years ago, left a job that I had loved for years, but things changed and I didnt love it quite as much. Left my job and went back to Uni to retrain in a similar field but research/lecturing rather that practice.
Admittedly I could afford to leave my job and go back to Uni, but still scary resigning.
Now have two jobs that I love, and much happier, and earn give or take the same as I used to (albeit not earning much whilst at uni).
I would say to anyone that life is too short to be in a job that you hate (although I know it is not as easy to leave for some), so find a way to do it.0 -
You consider yourself unlucky?!....
...I joke, I'm not bitter and 50+. Ignore them.
In all fairness though, £13k payrise is incredible, I'm struggling to bag a £13k job currently.
How did you manage it?! Is it a promotion on the position you were in before?0 -
Guess What..Your post inspired me I was very unhappy in my job loved the job it was the people that really put me off.. I handed in my notice on Wednesday, today was my last working day and guess what Ive been offered a new job..Woohooo Merry Xmas Everyone!!

For skilled jobs you're looking at CV screening on hundreds of CVs, phone interviews, in person interviews etc... assuming it's one off interview per person. Based on how quickly OP found a job and with such a pay increase, we're looking at sales based role, relying on commission. These types of jobs are not lucrative and most people don't bother with them because of the high risks associated with earning from commission. That's why OP was offered a job so quickly.0
