There's a lot of unknowledgeable and guessing persons haunting this thread -

As G_M says, it's not an issue. People just don't fall ill or die from the effects of entering, or even being close to, a whiffy WC or bathroom. Yes, being enclosed in a main sewer could have that effect, but breathing in the air in an adjacent room? No, no, no......

People here are struggling to take your question seriously, as you can evidently see. I tried to find out what's behind your question, to see what you're REALLY concerned about, and you basically told me to stuff it. I've put a few questions to you about why YOU think it's a problem, in comparison with the situation of a regular bathroom or WC, and you've ignored them, as well as telling me to stuff it.

Well, if you don't like the standard of reply you're getting, you're free to go and ask somewhere else. If you want professional advice on the topic, as an earlier poster said - go and pay a professional.

Everyone here is giving of their time to you for free. If you don't appreciate this, you can of course go to another forum.....
  • It's on a need to know basis - and you don't need to know

If you "need to know" the answer to your question, then I suggest some civility.

On the other hand, you have been given the answer.

Do some more research - find out when the enclosures were constructed and find the building regulations for that time.

    Enjoy!

......., and I've never heard of a case of anyone being struck down dead or incapacitated by entering a bathroom that's been left in a noxious state by a previous user... have you?

    Naah!

He's not interested in Building Regs - just 'elf-n-saifti.

The real answer of course is that it depends just how noxious his gas is. Could be an 'elf issue, as Miss H points out above!

I gave him the correct answer in #10 as "I is" qualified to know and say.

But he/she is too rude and ungrateful to accept it.:(

"You don't need to know" then we don't need to help you. :)

Or you could gracefully say " that for various reasons I need to keep it confidential", but I suspect he has, unsurprisingly, fallen out with a neighbour and wants to "grass 'em" up. Perhaps the Kid should return to los gigantes.
Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
