Hi Lucky - Honey I am sure that some of the shoes and boots I still have are from when she was 4 ish, I am more than happy to send them onto a good home (my daughter is dinky too for her age - so might be useful for your little one)

I don't think that should stop you, I saw you got some advice on another board about IS and not being able to claim CTC but I read on the official site that you aren't ineligible if YOU claim IS, it's if any child of yours does. If they are 16+ years old and claim in their own right.

As far as I'm aware, anyone with children, working or not, is eligible for CTC.

PLEASE give them a call tomorrow, explain you are unsure and they'll tell you if you can claim. They certainly won't call you to let you know if you are so go and check you aren't missing out on what's rightfully yours!

    The site is: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/TaxCredits/DG_10039727

It's no small amount, in my opinion, and you'd get it for both children so please call, it might just be the lifeline you need.

Read my link above, nothing on there says you aren't eligible if you get IS.

    I say you are eligible.

    Fingers crossed!

    I read this: http://www.cafamily.org.uk/FactsheetChildTaxCredit.pdf

It implies you MAY stop getting IS but in favour of CTC and that could well be higher than IS was alone.

The way I see it, you can ask and then calculate and make your decision from there as to which to claim, if you can't claim both.
