  • Thank you all so much for your replies!

I've double checked the TV model and i missed some letters off the end...sorry! (see how rubbish i am at the simplest things?!)

    Its UE40D5560RHXXU 40" LED

The TV's are in a hotel, if that makes any difference?

I don't think i will be able to burn the video onto a disc, as the video is part of a big electronic learning system on the laptop.

I've tried looking on the back of the TV (can't easily as they are attached to the wall) and all i can really see is USB and several HDMI ports. I couldn't see any VAG ports.
The laptop has a VAG port though.

whats a big electronic learning system, intranet?

anything you see on screen can be captured to video, if you can't get at the underlying file.

If the hotel is one that hosts conferences/training, they may have cables, converters, projectors. svideo or vga

  • No it's not intranet.

It's basically a programme on the laptop, which goes through health and safety training ect...and the video is part of the programme. I don't think there will be anyway of separating the video from the programme, to be able to put it on a USB stick or disc, to play it on my personal laptop (which has an HDMI port.)
    Hope that makes sense!

if the program is installed, it's possible there is a video file in the directory where it's installed, alternatively use the screen recorder and make a dvd, or svideo lead, or vga lead if the tv has connector, or vga - composite converter, or use a newer laptop with hdmi, or see if the hotel has a projector.
