During the ongoing trial of the parents who allegedly set fire to their house and killed their children, a forensic expert testified that all petrol's can be individually identified by their additives - in this case it was either Shell or Total.
Shell petrol was found in their grass strimmer.
Can we assume from this that the same could be said for derv additives?0 -

totally agree...but main dealer said when fuel filter starts getting blocked and car is still moving the engine management system gets confused on lack of fuel flow and vehicle movement which causes the ABS error light to kick in......im still confused how.
anyway my fault is fixed and 2 more people at my work had same problems from same tesco filling station causing blocked fuel filter!0 -

Yes as long as the base fuel also contains additive which Tesco's doesn't except Anti Static Additive which all UK diesel contains and is supplied by the same company.0 -
Do u have factual information to know that tesco does not include additives?
There was something on TV last week which stated that Tesco fuel has no additives, but I cannot remember which programme it was. I remember thinking at the time "That shows those people who say all petrol is the same are incorrect!""There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

I had to take my car in to get repaired a few months ago to get some valves changed I think and the mechanic suggested not to use supermarket fuel as it doesn't have enough additives compared to the main retailers.0
