Hold on, so Santander's e-Saver account can set up direct debits to pull funds?
If so, this solves a problem.0 -
Yes, you need to fill in a form and post it off to set it up.0
-
Small problem is that the form has vanished from the Santander website, and someone who called them about setting up the DD the other reported they denied all knowledge of it being possible.0
-
Online banking now says "The service is only available if you have nominated a bank account from which to pull the money. To obtain a form to nominate an account, please call our Telephone Banking Service on 0845 600 4388."0

That probably refers to my experience; more here:

As I said, I'm sure it can still be done, but you have to request the form, wait for it to come in the post, fill it in and return via post, then hope they receive/action it (two attempts failed for me, but that may have just been bad luck...)
If you haven't used the Tesco Internet or Instant Saver account options, they are a LOT easier!0 -
Hi everyone, just wondering if setting up 2 dd's from the same institution will be ok on 1 reward account or is that not working for anyone at the moment? thanks.0
-
The T&Cs say the DDs need to be for two separate companies. Ignore them at your peril.0
-
^ it won't work anymore.
They check the originator number so they DO need to be separate companies... unless someone still has the £5 under the radar?
Link to esaver paying in options - form doesn't download for me currently.0 -

I imagine this wording is meant to preclude multiple (manually initiated) monthly DD pulls to the same savings account for example.
I'd be pretty miffed if I had car and home insurance DDs with Sainsbury's Bank, for example, and didn't get the £5.0 -
The guy from Halifax who started this thread said "The DDs need to have different originator reference numbers (6 digit number)"

I reckon this is what their systems are checking, why else would he have told us.0
