They might, they might not. Banks will keep records for many years, even if your accounts were all closed. 6 months sounds a very short time.
Accidentally deleted post you replied to

Looks they might pay up again then after 6 months (if they have a signup offer going at the time)0

Whilst we are on the subject, my Online Saver has now expired and so I have no need to transfer money to Halifax.
Therefore, is this still in the T&Cs?
BoS 1 -> BoS 2 -> BoS 3 -> Reward -> BoS 1
All as internal transfers.
Or does the Reward 1K now need to be from outside the group?
Only £750.00 now.

This might help someone. My friend has 3 Halifax Rewards accounts. He set up two DD's on each account one was to his Santander eSaver and the other to his Tesco account. All was fine and he received his £5 rewards in May, but then in June there was nowt. Enquiries revealed that he had not provided a specimen signature to Tesco and he chose to ignore their requests for it. Therefore in May Tesco closed the account. It was too late in May when he realised to be able to set up a DD elsewhere. So, he opened a new Tesco account and set up the 3 new DD's and the first payments were taken in June. Yesterday he was credited with the £5 reward on each account. So all seems to be well again!0

No problems so far anyway.
And another 3 x £5 credited this month. Looks like my cunning plan is still working.0 -
I have not received the reward payment on one of my accounts this month.
On 03/06/13 the account balance was £3.50, my 2 DD's for £2.50 each went out of my account, therefore the balance went to -£1.50 but on the same day the reward of £5.00 was paid in making the account balance £3.50
The account conditions state the reward will be paid if you
•have not had a debit balance (planned or unplanned) by the end of any day during the calendar month
Should I have been paid the reward? :huh:chunky0 -
Hi folks,
Thanks to ffacoffipawb, hvaghela and Steve_xx for confirming my suspicions that HBOS are trying to pull a fast one on me by telling me a whole bunch of cobblers. At the end of the day I'm only losing £60 reward/year but it's the principle of the matter and I don't like to be lied to by the banks. You'd think they'd be more careful in the current climate but they clearly haven't learnt from their mistakes.
What's the next course of action for escalating this? I had thought about the financial regulator but would they even look into it?!?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think the reward payment counts towards the positive balance on the account.0

why should HBOS be "more careful in the current climate......"?

There's no point in escalating it, it will not get you anywhere.
What they say is the truth, you have not been told "a whole bunch of cobblers".
You had an account downgraded as per the T&Cs. Once an account has been downgraded, you need to re-apply to have it changed back to a Reward account, so the T&Cs apply here also as to you can only have 1 Reward account.
Anyone who setup the DDs in time didn't have the accounts downgraded, so they get to keep their Reward accounts.0
