By now you have probably realised that if a politician advises it, then its probably wise to do the complete opposite.
I did a long time ago.
Actually the pension was from a job I had for 15 years that I started in 1975.0 -
I wish Martin will put this into his newsletter next week to ensure everyone who entitled to will get their money. I dont want to get in with politics about it, but the whole idea of it, was because gov abolish social trariff, and ask supplier to this instead.
Also those in pension credit will be automatically get the money, but sure why, anyway, as always, money is out there, claim it or lose it.Spend smart, and save more.0 -

How do you measure ?, I mean someone decides the 'core' group' have a right because they receive means tested benefits, other social means tested benefits include:
Cold weather payments - are paid when your local temperature is either recorded as, or forecast to be, an average of zero degrees Celsius or below over 7 consecutive days
Fuel poor - is those would have to spend more than 10% of their household income on fuel to keep their home in a 'satisfactory' condition
Pension Credit is much more complicated but essentially guarantees £137.35 a week for single people and £209.70 a week for couples
So someone has to decide in very tight legislative terms who - gets what - when - if they are poor enough and at risk, that's the why. Anyone who is entitled to the core group benefit has their entitlement automatically coded to the power supplier companies and needs to do nothing. Anyone who is not entitled to the core group can apply for the broader group.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
