What about a voucher for a mini-spa day (facial or massage)? And get onto the freebies board there's loads of free Kindle books. Downlaod them for her and she might just discover a new author she likes.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
  • So far you've done well. Or so you think! You've thought about her interests and bought her some good gifts that she will probably use and enjoy. However whilst this formula works well when buying presents for a man, for a woman, and particularly the special woman in your life, there is something missing. ...

I disagree I think the OP has done really well. I would be delighted if OH bought me that list of pressies. Whilst you may think something is missing, I don't and only the OP will know what his OH will think.
Most women, even if they're not particularly into "girly girl stuff" want a bit of romance in their lives, they want a gift that is not just practical, but emotional, beautiful, useless but thoughtful. So just because she has enough jewellery doesn't mean she doesn't want more. If you are confident you know her tastes then why not get her a new piece.
The same for lingerie, if you think you can choose something she will really like rather than something too male-fantasy oriented, then go for it - perhaps a sexy chemise for nightwear from Figleaves or Debenhams? Why not get her a sensual luxurious bath foam or shower gel - something tasteful, youthful and sexy that might be too expensive for her to justify buying herself (try Cowshed for example).
Chocolates might work, if you go for some luxurious champagne truffles - think small in quantity, high in quality, but for me that doesn't hit the spot.
You know what she's like, just indulge that little bit of her that wants to be pampered but that she might not like to play up to! And good luck...

I must not be most women because I don't count jewellery or lingerie as romance. Time spent with OH is romance not stuff.

Choccies - fine but a multipack of Curly Wurlys would go down equally well as "posh" ones :T

Sorry to disagree I just felt I had to say something in case the OPs partner is like me and you've tried to tell him he is wrong! He will know what his partner likes.

Completely agree with you! I would be much more impressed that my OH had been so thoughtful and considered my interests rather then going for 'stereotypical' gifts like lingerie or bath stuff just because they seem to be viewed as 'romantic' by some people.

Agree with you - although I already have a Kindle and headphones! But I do shop on Amazon a lot, so that would be useful to me.

I wouldn't thank anyone for random underwear or bubblebath. Or, indeed, salon/spa vouchers or "day out" vouchers.

Tbh, if you can't think of anything else, I might go with another pair of trainers/sneakers. Personally, I like Rocket Dog and Skechers. Alternatively, if you want to get some ebooks, I can recommend the Scanguards series by Tina Folsom (vampires), the In Her Name series by Michael R Hicks (sci-fi) and/or the Dr Steven Dunbar series by Ken McClure (crime/thriller).

What's wrong with gifting something that fits a person's tastes? That is romance: being thoughtful.
  • Just to clarify for the OP - you are clearly more thoughtful, organised and generous than any men I know. I just feel that something more intimate says "You're still my sexy wife/partner as well as my best friend and a great mum". But clearly from the different responses on here not all women get that message in the same way!

My hubby has brought me the exact presents - a kindle fire, an amazon voucher and some skull candy headphones....weird!

He's also brought me (incase it helps) a leather cover for the kindle, a new pair of slippers, some pjs and a penguin hot water bottle! - I haven't been snooping I was there when he brought them...

My best suggestions would be a kindle case or some chocolate - I think you've done really well and your presents show you care. I personally wouldn't want smellies or random underwear, but it sounds like you know what your wife would like so go with your instinct.

Those all sound good to me too! Although I personally rate the microwaveable "hot water bottles" over the actual fill-with-the-kettle hot water bottles. Less hassle. ;)

You've already spent what to me is a small fortune! :o The £30 value would be fine and about what we spend on each other.

Whatever you get I'm sure she'll love it as you seem very caring.
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Many Thanks for all the suggestions. I certainly have a head full of ideas now.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you all.
