After finally finishing the gift buying the other day, I looked in the bank account I have where I save for christmas and there is still just short of £30 available.
The kids have loads of stuff this year as per usual, but I feel a bit of a skinflint as I've bought my wife a kindle, a £20 amazon gift card and a set of headphones from me and the kids.
So, I'm going to spend the remaining £30 on the Mrs.
So what you you get a woman who is a big reader (hence the Kindle), loves movies (action, comedy, sci-fi, vampires, crime/thriller), and TV (crime/thriller, sci-fi, vampires), not a big drinker unless it's coffee (7-10 cups a day), not into girly girl stuff, likes music (dance/techno/old skool hardcore/ministry of sound etc) jewelery (but she's already got loads that she doesn't wear, trainers (? she has a trainer fettish).
I'm completely stumped. All I can think of is lingere but then that just makes me a typical bloke, and it's not really festive is it?
Any suggestions, even something I can do between now and Xmas Day that is handmade.
Thanks.

What about a real treat box of chocolates (e.g. Hotel Chocolat) or a lovely bouquet of flowers?
Either that or maybe a fun but stylish festive/cute animal jumper? Festive but fun at the same time.Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
How about creating a bound scrapbook of personal moments, photos, items that you have shared as a family? Time consuming maybe, but very personal & creative. You can pick up the book & loads of bits from any good craft shops etc
A beauty salon or hair voucher where she can go and get a bit of 'me time'?
Book 1 night hotel stay for you both to look forward to? (good offers on at mo)
Or how about creating a photobook online? There are some great offers on at the moment0 -

It doesnt make you a typical bloke, it's the stereotypical bloke, believe me they dont exist. Well, the odd one or two, to me that makes them un typical. So as a lady, I would be absolutely delighted that my OH had gone to the trouble of going into a lingerie shop and put some thought into my pressie.
Get into her drawers:D and check her bra size if you are going to be buying a 'set' The present is not only for her then eh;)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
How about some converse or vans shoes.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

How about a coffee shop voucher, or a voucher for afternoon tea at garden centre.
A voucher for the hairdressers she goes to
Or if you`re really up for it look in her make up bag and buy exactly the same things she buys.
I personally love it when my OH buys me the salon brands shampoo and conditioner from boots in the 3 for 2 gifts as its a luxury I wont pay for myself.
As regards the kindle you can start downloading the free books from amazon etc then you`ll have a supply ready for her.Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
So far you've done well. Or so you think! You've thought about her interests and bought her some good gifts that she will probably use and enjoy. However whilst this formula works well when buying presents for a man, for a woman, and particularly the special woman in your life, there is something missing.
Most women, even if they're not particularly into "girly girl stuff" want a bit of romance in their lives, they want a gift that is not just practical, but emotional, beautiful, useless but thoughtful. So just because she has enough jewellery doesn't mean she doesn't want more. If you are confident you know her tastes then why not get her a new piece.
The same for lingerie, if you think you can choose something she will really like rather than something too male-fantasy oriented, then go for it - perhaps a sexy chemise for nightwear from Figleaves or Debenhams? Why not get her a sensual luxurious bath foam or shower gel - something tasteful, youthful and sexy that might be too expensive for her to justify buying herself (try Cowshed for example).
Chocolates might work, if you go for some luxurious champagne truffles - think small in quantity, high in quality, but for me that doesn't hit the spot.
You know what she's like, just indulge that little bit of her that wants to be pampered but that she might not like to play up to! And good luck...0 -
CSI Miami box-set? Gourmet coffee selection pack? Insulated/travel coffee mug? (I saw a cute Hello Kitty one in Sainsbury's.) Special edition of one of her favourite books/DVDs? iTunes gift card?
Any (other) hobbies that you could buy supplies for? Do you think she'd like a jewellery-making kit?
If you must stick with the underwear idea, then buy a gift voucher instead - that way she can choose for herself. Figleaves and La Senza are nice stores.
I'm not into trainers or dance type music but the rest is vaguely similar to my tastes.0 -
If she's a big reader she might have a wish list at Amazon... That would be helpfuul0

You will know what your Mrs will like if you just settle your head. Or is there any harm in asking her for a list of 5 or 6 items. (Say as a stocking filler, pick a couple and then it is still a surprise and she is getting what she wants).
I would hate lingerie. More a pressie for Hubbie than me. (but a lot of woman are more than happy)
The Orginal Star Trek Series dvd's are fluctating in price you may be able to nab for under £30. There is the Tardis Mug at Play (more novelty)
Most women love Chocs, Or vouchers for a pamper. Make sure it's somewhere decent. How bout you organise someone to look after the kids and you have a Cinema night after Christmas. Make up a gift receipt on the computer. Or could you just give her the money for the sales.
I love when Hubbie goes the extra mile to help around the house at Christmas. Wee things that are really thoughtful.
Good Luck0 -
Personalised cover for the kindle maybe.
If she likes movies then maybe cinema tickets or a 'movie night in' hamper - if you could try and arrange a babysitter for the kids (don't know how old they are) and do it as like a 'date night' then she'd probably really appreciate that.
Does she like specialised coffees - like the flavoured ones or anything? Can buy syrup gift packs and things for them - might be nice with a pretty mug.
A friend of mine is really into trainers and for her last birthday she was given some that were personalised and with the design printed on especially for her - they were a Converse type though not sure if they were 'official' converses. Something like that might be nice if they were in budget and could get printed in time.0
