Yeah, I did the same with my Virgin one oddly enough - but I used it for support purposes, for clients with dialup connections!Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0

Some sites/retailers don't like "disposable" email addresses like G-Mail or Hotmail. Getting a Hotmail address also used to be like handing out an open invitation to spammers, although I think Hotmail may have done something to fix that recently.
I actually have a web address for the business, so do have another email address, but because I got that a while after setting up the business we have been using our old email address and have it printed on the business cards etc.0 -
Like I (think I) said earlier, if you contact your old ISP - they will likely rent you the mailbox for a charge.Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0
