Thats not too bad for an electric window switch. Unfortunately, you don't see many Freelanders in scrapyards. However, have you tried a blast of good old WD40 into the innerds to clean the contacts? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

A haynes manual and examination of the new one may help.0 -
Fester, how old is it i.e. is it older than 53 (Facelift)?, if it is just look for a Maestro/Metro in a scrapper where you will find the switch you need!

Most window switches I've encountered usually just lever out with a bit of help from a small flat-bladed screwdriver. You then unplug it from the connector (making sure that the connector doesn't disappear back into the door!), plug in the new switch and push it back into the door.

Oops! I forgot they aren't in the doors or the centre console! The procedure should be the same - for "door" read "dashboard"! Just remember that if someone had to fit the thing in seconds on a production line, you should be able to replace it in a couple of minutes on your driveway! The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
