Electric Window Switch on a Freelander?

Do anyone know much a Electric Window Switch (Front Passenger Side) on a Freelander (X/2000) would cost? :confused:

    Thats not too bad for an electric window switch. Unfortunately, you don't see many Freelanders in scrapyards. However, have you tried a blast of good old WD40 into the innerds to clean the contacts?

    Fester, how old is it i.e. is it older than 53 (Facelift)?, if it is just look for a Maestro/Metro in a scrapper where you will find the switch you need!

    Most window switches I've encountered usually just lever out with a bit of help from a small flat-bladed screwdriver. You then unplug it from the connector (making sure that the connector doesn't disappear back into the door!), plug in the new switch and push it back into the door.

    Alcot's advice is good: British Leyland/Rover/Whatever were renowned for designing new models from the left-over parts of older ones.

    It's in the dash...Can I try to DIY it myself? Without messing anything up? As somebody has quoted me £110!!! :(

    Oops! I forgot they aren't in the doors or the centre console! The procedure should be the same - for "door" read "dashboard"! Just remember that if someone had to fit the thing in seconds on a production line, you should be able to replace it in a couple of minutes on your driveway!
