I Need A Cheap Flight To Orlando April 2008 Please

  • I've recently used Momondo.com.

It's a search engine, not an actual agency, so it let's you compare all airlines, travel agencies and such to each, and thus giving you an overlook.
  • Hi Spendthrift.
I was doing the exact same thing last night and all the sites I looked at said the £650 range for flights to orlando. But I also found one for around £330/360 and it was on FLIGHT COMPARISON, so that may be the same one that you were looking at - it was the cheapest I found but was flying from Manchester and not Gatwick.
What people don't understand is that if you have children you need to book your hols a year in advance as the easter/summer hol dates go very quickly indeed. We have JUST got back a few days ago from our holiday in Orlando and if we want to get the exact holiday we want and WHEN we want it we need to book ASAP for next year. Yes a lot of places still don't take bookings for next easter yet and we may have to wait another month, but we are determined to do hotel and flights separately on net this time instead of the usual 'travel agent' route - reckon we'll save about £2,000 on a 2 week holiday for 4! Good luck spendthrift - hope you get it sorted - and hope I do too! Just be careful though - the cheaper flights usually have one or two stops during the journey and can add several hours onto the flight time! I'll be looking for cheap direct ones!

I always find that if you use the flight booking section on http://www.orlandovillas.com/ they seem to get a competative price but have the bonus of car hire included. This is a total car price with no extra insurances that some companies add (CDW's etc)

It seems that Virgin have hiked their prices over the last few days. I have been watching the prices for flights to Orlando for the 1st 2 weeks in September 2007. Early this week they were around £450. Today they are £680!!!!

Does anyone know why they have increased so much - I'm hoping they will drop to again. These prices seem as high as I've paid previously to travlel during school holidays

I've booked for Easter 08 with VIRGIN HOLIDAYS simply due to the fact that we have kids in school and we have to stick to school holidays. I've booked an Orlando fly drive and will book the accom separately at a later date. We tried to do this last year and enquired a full year in advance, but even that was too late!

Although Easter is a busy time, I think you will get a much better deal by booking in Sept / Oct. We have just come back from Orlando - went for Easter 2007, during the school holidays. We have 3 children, 2 of whom are school age. I paid £1550 for the 5 of us including all taxes, but I bought the flights in October. There were lots of airlines around this price.

While I appreciate you want to buy before they sell out, the can't sell out until they are on sale. And the more airlines have their prices out the more competitive they will be.

    Hi x-spendthrift,

Any luck finding flights since your last post? I am doing exactly the same and am not getting very far. Everyone says the tickets are not on sale yet... Would love to find something soon under £450. Looking to depart 4th April 2008

    Please help if you can!

    Hi, just read your email.

I've just spent some time trying to find out about flights departing around 12th April. Friends reckon they can book through a travel agent already, so I phoned Virgin Atlantic who provided a kind of garbled reason which did confirm that a travel agent can offer Virgin flights in April 2008, but Virgin themselves can't. To book direct with Virgin the flight must be no more than 11 months ahead - which means of course that if you want to book your return flight at the same time, you probably have to leave it until 10 months ahead.
Either way, my friends were quoted £2600.00 economy for a family of 4, and £4480.00 premium. Not exactly the sort of cheap flights I had in mind!

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread!!

Have you had a look at greatlatedeals.co.uk. they have a flight departing from gatwick-sandford on the 11th April 2008 (charter flights with Thomas Cook airlines which is pretty resonably priced. They also seem quite competitively priced for hotels and flights combined too! Good luck and hope this thread helps(approx £424 per person for flights departing 11th April 2008)
