when it is rotated.

Has anyone got one, they can measure, or find the dimentions online please.

Added:

What size are you trying to put in it. Chuck size is usually 13mm or ½inch in old money.

I have a Bosch PSR18, and the chuck size is 10mm. Hope that helps.

    It has a 10mm chuck.

The chuck is the thing that the drill bit goes into. I wasn't being familiar in a Northern way.

I could be wrong, but I'm not familiar with an adapter that is available to fit 11.1mm to a 10mm chuck

Its got a 10mm chuck for a reason. You'll nerf the drill. Its not up to the job TBH. Have you any idea of the torque required to get a 1 inch auger bit through timber? You need a corded drill or a lot less DIY cordless. Beg, buy, borrow [STRIKE]or steal[/STRIKE].

As above, and use it on a low speed. Once those auger bits break through, they will drag you though the hole behind them.

A hand brace might be a better bet.

If you are planning to increase a hole the auger bit will not work. What are you trying to do?. Your post is difficult to understand.

His whole problem is that the bit won't go in the chuck of his drill. Its the "hole" in the end of the chuck rather than a hole in the timber that is too small.

No. If anything change the chuck to a ½inch one if you can on this baby. But I still think the drill itself isn't up to the task. Whilst a sledgehammer can be used to crack a nut you don't use walnut crackers to break concrete!!
