Tretts is right. Just go and enjoy. We particularly like Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. Really reasonable for late afternoon lunch considering you are sitting right on the strip. also, don't forget to order your copy of American Casino Guide from Amazon. Money well spent, as there are loads of 241 buffet deals in it (all be it, none on the strip I think) as well as matchplay vouchers.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Andrea: I'm going to Vegas for a week at the end of May too!!

Maybe we should wear a special MSE badge so that we recognise each other and see how many money off vouchers we can collect and use in the land of vouchers!!!

The cheesecake factory also does great food, not just desserts, also planet hollywood in the cesars shops were good for eating, and then shopping afterwards! The cheesecake factory got pretty busy so we had to wait but there is an aquarium nearby and the living statues to keep the kids entertained.

The buffet in the Bellagio was excellent, and there was loads of choice, the buffet in the Mirage was also the same, and with the Mirage I would reccommend trying to get there between breakfast and lunch as then you can stay and pick at the breakfast menu, and then tuck into the lunch menu as it becomes available. I managed to do this by accident and it was an unexpected bonus! The Treasure Island buffet is also pretty good.

As somone mentioned before the food court at the fashon show mall is a good stop, especially if all the kids (even the big ones) want fast food.

    PLACES TO AVOID!!

I think I was lucky in the fact that we had really good meal experiences, however the one place that let me down was the buffet in the Excalibur, I found there to be little choice and it seemed to me that all the food was poor quality, and quite possibly leftovers from the day before.

    Hope this helps.

PS If your elooking for things to do with the kids then you cant go wrong with seigfried and roys secret garden at the Mirage, and the aquarium at Mandalay bay.

    Last but not least.

    Have a great trip!

The best buffet is definately at the Bellagio (check out the fountains at the bellagio as well!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9J--Drsksw

Your daughter will LOVE the rainforest cafe at the MGM Grand. My little girl was 3 when we went and she loved it. There's a rainforest cafe in london as well but we haven't got round to visiting that one yet..

A tip from a friend of mine who lived there for 3 years.

Find out what time the buffets change from Breakfast to Lunch, Lunch to Dinner.
As Lunch buffets are cheaper than Dinner ones, and Dinner ones have better options, go 10 minutes before the change over and pay for your meal (he said you generally do this in advance).
Then take your time picking what you want and get free upgrading!:T

Its also worth stopping off at some of those rubbish time share talks that they do as they will give you freebies like meal vouchers etc.;)

Being nice to shopkeepers in the casinos is good to, several times he got given tickets to shows because they couldn't go (they get free tickets to whatevers on there).

Have a great time, I'm going Memphis this summer!

Try the Rio, just off the Strip. The restaurant is on the 51st floor (I think - it's very high anyway) and while you are waiting for your food you can go out onto the balcony and get a fabulous view of the Strip. We went at night (brilliant sight) but I'm sure it will be just as good on a clear day as well.

I also agree with everyone else about Bellagio - by far the best buffet so the slightly higher price is well worth it.

    Have a great time!
  • I have been twice to vegas and throughly recommend the sunday brunch
at circus- circus it claims to have the best steak house in vegas.
you need to pre-book but for about $25.00 you can eat yourself silly and have endless amounts of champagne.

If you have a big budget the Wynn buffet (@ $100 per person) is out of this world - not cheap for a family but if you can name it they have it. best place to get endless amounts of alaskan crab legs (as they are very expensive elsewhere)

or on a budget frozen margarita $2 a drink the frontier hotel

    all are on the strip.:T
  • For somewhere special to eat I would recommend "Top of the World" resturant at the Stratosphere. This is 833 feet above the strip and revolves 360 degrees every hour. Steaks and fish are served here but you need to book in advance. It is very pricey but worth the experience as the lift takes you up to the resturant which is 833 feet above in about 20 seconds and you see the whole of the strip which is absolutely incredible.

There is a gorgeous italian restaurant just above the shops beside TI, beside the Diesel shop i think. The food is amazing and cheap and the staff were really nice! Cant remember the name of it though....
