Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
HH - sounds like someone is trying to pass the buck! Like others have said it makes you wonder how some of these people get into positions of authority. Is it worth trying to speak to your Union rep (if you have one) or as I've found sometimes it's better not to create waves. I always think if you give some people enough rope eventually they'll hang themselves without the need for anyone else to get involved!
Getting light here now this morning, looks very frosty but no snow.
DH up and off to work stupid early. List of jobs to do today - must get cracking as not that much time free between now and xmas as we're going to Andre Rieu concert next Thursday and staying over so won't be back home until Friday morning - which means losing Thursday and most of Friday next week.
Dinner last night was gammon steaks, egg, mash, peas, green beans and onion sauce, dessert was either birthday cake or choc swiss roll. Went to DS1's parents evening last night and I'm feeling proud, whilst he's not a grade A* student he's pretty average, but has no confidence in his abilities and I had some problems with him applying himself and behaviour etc at school 18 months/2 years ago, but when he went back in September it was if someone had switched a light on, and he's worked really hard - he's predicted to be able to achieve his grade C's he needs to get on his college course - so I'm really trying to continue this momentum to get him through the exams.
Work wasn't particularly busy but then was becoming busier as I finished.
Spent ages on the phone yesterday afternoon to get DS1's bike insurance organised, what a nightmare sooo expensive - but have got it sorted now.
Have the dreaded dentist again first thing this morning - at least last week she numbed me and this week she will be doing the same, one I've been today I don't go back until 10 Jan - so at least get a bit of a rest from the treatment and that is the last one. Phew!
Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x

Morning all,
Brrrr, so cold here. I hope to finish wrapping today but with more pressies ordered online and due to be delivered tomorrow it seems never ending. Must vacume through and polish. Getting decs up causes so much dust.
ROSYRED, Thank you for the recipe I have the ingredients so I'll try it today.
Dinner will be cajun chicken, jkt and sweetcorn.
I have to go to help DD2 today, she put her tree up last w/end but after collecting DGD from play school on Tuesday she got home to find her 2 Labs had trashed the tree and broken/chewed lots of decs. She bought more decs and re did it yesterday
She switched the lights on last night and they've all blown. She's in tears so I'll pick some lights up and re do her tree for her.
JackiO hope the bag trick works.
G4TD, I bet those motorists were freezing, hope the road is clearer now.
NMLC Well done your DS.
HILSTEP Enjoy your xmas dinner.

Morning all, been away for work for a day or so. HORRIBLE driving conditions....thick freezing fog and night time getting there. I was quite dizzy by the time I got to the hotel. Coming home was mostly in daylight so not so bad.
I'm panicing cos there's so much to do. Trying to prioritise a bit. NEED to get work from yesterday finished (deadline tomorrow), go to see son to take him to doctor appt, have my own doctor's appt this morning, have friend coming for dinner and overnight. WANT to go to gym, get some food shopping done, change beds, shop for last of the presents. Tomorrow I am due up in Oxford to meet up with some old Uni friends, then in evening OH arrives for the weekend. AGGGGHHHHH. Actually the real stress is because my son had an accidental fall on Monday, has cut his head rather badly but wouldn't let A&E doc stitch it. Son coped well with letting doc know calmly, but since then has been quite challenging to staff. Since he needs to see doc today I am frankly a bit nervous about what will happen afterwards. I very rarely drink alcohol, but think tonight I may share a glass or two with my friend.
Sorry to winge ladies and gents, so many of you have a much tougher time than me and I do feel a bit pathetic!

Good morning everyone

It was -4° when I set off for work this morning and windscreen and windscreen wipers kept freezing. I had to stop and spray with de-icer on the motorway!
Freezer lucky dip was salmon last night, not sure what today's is but it's an interesting shape. Still on sandwiches for lunch as no work microwave yet but we are supposed to have a new one tomorrow.
Made mince pies plus managed 3 Oxfam bags of decluttering done last night and half a wheelie bin of rubbish too, plus I managed to find 2 items for ebay so very happy with that. Am still undecided about the steam mop so will wait to see if there are any in the sales.
Vegetables from Aldi to blanch and freeze tonight.
Back to work now, so leaving well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day everyone

Morning all,
we had a few flakes of snow yesterday but nothing worth getting excited about. This morning its -4 and frosted all over.
Hubby has a hospital appointment this afternoon then he is back to work straight after as they need him tomorrow on a job. I suggested it would be best if he did the 130 miles it takes to get there and the 130 miles it will take him to get back tomorrow night in 2 days instead of 1 as he will be working a full 8 hour shift inbetween. He agreed it would be wise.
Think i need to go back on some sort of diet again. Ive put on some weight and i can feel it in my clothes. It hasnt affected my BP yet but i know it will given time.
Chicken tonight, well we were having it last night but hubby phoned to say he wouldnt be home till gone 10pm and not to bother with cooking him a meal as he grabbed something as he left work.

Morning,(just
)
HH- on your behalf.
Betheebee- you're welcome, hope it turns out ok for you,I'm nervous now
:D
I did some wrapping yesterday but still quite a lot left.I got everything out to check what i had, still need a couple more things for DSons yet, preferably something bulky like a jumper or sweatshirt:rotfl:I got a big bottle of aftershave for Dh and it wasnt there, checked the receipt and it was on,so searched high and low and finally found another bag in my wardrobe, which also had socks and boxers for DS,so will get on with that later and get it out of the way before little DGD comes at teatime-she's into everything!
Tuna pasta bake for tea-I think she'll eat that, well she did last week but on Tuesday rejected 2 of my offerings. She's enough padding on her so not that worried but dont want her mum telling us she's starving when she gets home, like she did last week .I dont think she's used to meals cooked from scratch really at home.Put a chip in front of her and she'll wolf it down
I also want to prep my Xmas day roasties today as well, and get them frozen, and the veg, well some of them.I'd better get on with it then
nlj-hope you and DS get on ok at the docs.
Hope you all have a good day.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Yesterday I was in trouble for not responding to some emails, turns out they'd been sent to the wrong email address, the last remark of the telling off was 'Next time you don't receive an email, you must make more effort to find out why'.
Since I didn't know they were being sent, how am I meant to do that?
Off back to Lurksville now - I'm not in a good place right now and don't want to spoil the general merriment of the season, hence not posting much.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
