Buyer claims item not received

I think you owe your buyer an apology, you've slated him here, said you didn't want to make life easy for him and accused him of getting a freebie.
Yet even though you sent the item untracked and he could have lied he's told you the item has come thus saving you £80.
I do hope you feel some pang of guilt and have perhaps learned not to judge so harshly next time.
Are you having a laugh - it it wasn't for the buyers impatience, at the busiest time of the year - no correspondence would have been needed and the seller would not have had to waste time on here.0 -

Not at all, seller was quick enough to call buyer a scammer and happy to make life awkward for them, but when it transpires they weren't out to rob her afte rall.......well.0 -

Erm common sense - something heavy in a big box in not going to be a pencil sharpener.
And yes - experience - over 40% of items i have posted this way , never arrived.
I Used to sell a great deal of large heavy glass and china, all virtually worthless , a few pounds at most and all going uninsured via standard parcel.
I gave up when I decided I couldn't be bothered to spend 20 minutes packing something that was only giving me a net profit of a couple of pounds.
I can't believe many people would do as Op has done and sent an item of value by standard parcel.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So on one hand we mustn't dare suggest the buyer has stolen the parcel and on the other can't say the same about the postal workers either. So just where the bloomin' hell do all my clearly addressed, well packed, clearly sealed shut parcels keeping going then?So a postman is going to nick it? A bit slanderous mate.

sellers assume buyers are chancing it when they say an item hasnt arrived . In 2011 I bought a ladies suit .I was suspicious off the buyer from the start .Two minutes after the sale closed I was offered a second chance offer and it was a new seller .I paid ,no suit arrived I opened a dispute seller said they could see suit had arrive (bluff ) but they had to refund.
A month later the suit arrived and by that time the seller had closed their account. I did manage to pay again via paypal.
This week I bought a pair off shoes from clarks .
I put on the deliver details "put in shed " .
Yesterday I arrived home to find a card "parcel in shed ".
I went to the shed and nothing there ,I am thinking !!!!!! is going on here .They had been put in the coal bunker .."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -

Fortunate. It's a bit different to make accusations against a whole and specific group of workers. Of course, some are bound to be dodgy. But try to keep some sort of perspective. Your parcels may have been abducted by aliens.0
