Computers For Schools Vouchers

Bought fuel and some groceries at our local Tesco Express yesterday. My daughter also bought some stuff separately. It was only when checking the receipt I noticed "You have earned 7 computers for schools vouchers in this transaction" but they had not given me any. Same with my daughter. I wonder how many other people this has happened to. Maybe only a few vouchers or even one, but if they do that with as many people as possible schools could be losing out.

I always thought Express stores were exempt from all the offers that the normal stores have.
I'd doubt it is a cost saving thing. You can get checkout assistants that give you nearly an entire book each time to go through the checkout.0 -
I noticed the same thing on my receipt yesterday and chided hubby about not getting them for the grand children. He said we probably look too old so they did not ask us. Aye rip offs. Taffy0

The till doesn't remind the CA any more and sometimes they just forget to give them to you. If you ask they will give them to you and if you forget at the time, either ask customer services or more often than not, if you say next time you go in, you will be given them. Don't be rude and you will probably get a few more! In my store we tend to give a few more to the nice customers;)0

I don't collect the vouchers but always ask if they can be given to the next person who is collecting them. This never seems to go down very well.0

think some staff see this as you telling them the obvious, most pass them on anyway whether you tell them to or not as they hate to see them wasted0 -
The express stores issue 2 per £10 spend but things are sometimes dearer than at the main store but its ok for top ups for the phone as its the same price wherever you go.Ive had them not given to me, then had them give me extra ive asked if i can have the persons infront, they dont seem to mind as bigmama says alot do forget i always find sa's not to mind giving them out.0

But surely the till assistants have a brain? They shouldn't need a till to remind them. They know the promotion is on so why don't they just automatically offer each person. Also it shouldn't matter if the person says give them to someone else. If Tesco have the interests of the schools at heart and a customer is happy to have their vouchers passed on it should be okay. I can't believe a till assistant is so dependent on what the till tells them to do.0 -

Contrary to what people think, it is not that easy working on a till. There are lots of different things we have to remember to do. Surely it is better you get the right change rather than a couple of bits of paper?

bigmama,
In the old days till operators did exactly the same as current ones, only they didn't have an electronic till then to tell them what to do. They used their brains to add up. Only difference was they didn't have reward vouchers. They still had cheques and credit cards to deal with.0
