    Hi all,
Please can I join this year?

Originally I budgeted £360 for January - 2 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 hamsters. BUT reading all the posts my budget and spending sounds excessive lol so looking to come in under £320 at £80 a week for 4 weeks in Jan. That will be a drop of £10 a week from my usual spend.
Working hard to to pay off the mortgage within 5 years instead of 9 by considering every penny spent. Aiming to go part time the and enjoy a simple life with simple pleasures!

I've been checking my spending for a few months so I can set realistic targets for joining this challenge.

I'll be really pushing myself this month as in January I have a storecupboard month buying as little as possible. I'm going to aim for £100 January target and not beat myself up if I don't hit it!

    I'm aiming for a 2013 target of £1500

Staying at the outlaws and so spent £2.60 on chips from the chippy to go with leftover meat. In the change was a shiny £2 coin which NEEDS to go into the sealed pot so that puts my spends to £86.60. :)

It usually falls on the last Thursday of the month. The Mirror will print a voucher for a £5 off a £35 spend in Aldi. There is usually a page of % off selected items too. All of the vouchers can be used together in the same transaction too, which is a bonus.

On the discount codes and vouchers board there is a new thread daily where they list coupons and offers in newspapers, that is your best place to check if you don't see it advertised in the TV

  • Well OH had a couple of spends today....£1.85 on milk and bread for us, and £60 some odd on dog food (we had a 10% voucher so used it to buy his entire months worth of food!!

Have added the 1.85 but not the dog food yet as I'm not sure on the exact spend....

Doing my meal plan tomorrow morning and then a trip to the market to buy any meat and veg. So will be updating with further spends tomorrow!

    Hi all

Can I please join again for January.

I'm aiming for less but put me down for £400

We have a pretty well stocked freezer and cupboards so hope to spend most of Jan eating from there, but would like to do a big meat shop from the only 'real' butchers left around here - I bought about £50 worth in December and though not as much in quantity as from SM, it went further as it was such good quality no shrinkage etc

    Thanks x
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130

Havn't been on here in months and my spending has got beyond a joke, so i'm back for the new year.

There's me and my 3 little squidges, age 4, 2 1/2 and 20 months, I know how much i used to spend which was a crazy amount, and looking at what i have in, i am aiming for a spend of £150.00 pcm 1st - 31st Jan, this is just for food shopping not including eating out/coffee with friends etc, which is a seperate budget of £100.

    X

Hi Katy, nice to see you back on here, hope everything is going well

Everyone else seems to have loads in stock to run down in January, I don't... Fingers crossed I can keep to my lower budget!
