So after a long time our work has paid off...
Over 25k customers will now get refunds on their loans as court has ruled against NRAM today...
For us who have been refunded it looks like further refunds are on the way soon... Watch this space folks ...

I took out a together mortgage in June 2001 and redeemed the mortgage in August 2005 but continued with a different mortgage with Northern Rock before leaving them because I was placed in the toxic part.

I have not received any correspondence from NR.

Am I to right to assume the unsecured part of the mortgage interest should be repaid together with compensation?????

Hi everyone, I had a northern rock mortgage with a together mortgage and extra unsecured loans, I wrote to them and heard a few things saying they were looking into it. I totally forgot about it and haven't heard anything for ages. Sounds like if I was owed anything I would have been told by now.
    Should I write to them?
    Thanks
    Tim
  • Tim call them straight away. Call compaints dept and insist you have this looked into an why they never got back in touch with you. You need to tell them it is a formal complaint and rules appy with timelines etc, they will try everything to stall... Keep on at them!!

Should I write to them as well?
  • Hi

Wondered if anyone knows the answer

I had an unsecured loan and part of the NRAM together that I took out for 19.5k in 2007. This is now delinked as I moved mortgage provider. I have already received redress on this, am I correct in thinking there may be further refund due for the period 2007/2008 on this?

Previously I had a together mortgage in 2003-2006 (completed) with an unsecured element of 23.5k. Would I be affected as it's under 25k? Is the ruling for both under and over 25k for that time period? Regardless I have moved house so I guess I should make contact so they have my current details for that particular loan.

LennonC1- I have been trying to find the action group. There's a note saying the fb group closed and the link posted there doesnt work. Can you assist please?

  • HH - the action group website was taken down as we weren't getting anywhere fast. Now saying that, we should have left it, there is a few of us still researching and will get somewhere one day!! I hope. All we can do as a collective of customers is complain complain complain....
Make sure you call them about your unsecured loan, write and call them, send SAR letter get armed with all your information first, but keep on at them.

so once ive got my documentation back from nram what am i looking for to see if i could be entitled to compensation? is it the wrong service authority on the statements thats wrong. My together mortgage doesn't have 16 digits. I have 4 secured loans all totalling about £30k but they were taken out at different times. Should i be on the over £25k thread instead?
  • Hello. Sorry if this has been answered before. I've trawled through the previous answers but couldn't see anything.
Nram tell me that because my loan was for home improvements it isn't affected. Is that right?
