So I had my mortgage from may 2007 an unsecured amount of 13000 @ 6.29 % in feb 2012 it changed to the standard variable of 4.29% we redeemed on the 5th October 2012 does anyone know if they pay interest on the money the owe? I think I have worked it out to approx £2100 without interest on this, does this seem right?
I don't think they are adding interest to it as the amount I calculated from my statements was only £6 different from what I got which is no where enough to cover 8% interest. There are no calculations on the letter either to explain how they came up with the amount of redress.0 -
Can anyone clarify the dates of the period of non-compliance that they're repaying the interest for?
I'm an ex-customer, now living overseas, but a cheque for a very small amount apparently turned up at my inlaws house today. I first contacted NRAM back in March, and despite giving them my new address on several occasions, have received zero communication from them. I'd like to work out how they came to their figure, as we took our mortgage and loan (under £25k) in June 2005, but then re-financed them in August 2008 and incresed the unsecured loan to over £25k. The whole lot was redeemed in January 2011.
Also, does anyone know if accepting the cheque prevents you from receiving further compensation if the FOS decides loans above £25k are affected?0 -
After a lot of waiting, I finally received my letter on Sat 24 Aug with the amount of redress telling me I will get a cheque within 28 days, the cheque arrived today! So it seems that after the long wait for the redress letter passes, the cheque arrives quite quickly! Good luck everyone hope you all get good news soon! :j0

Good News, I hope to get my cheque soon too (received my letter on the 27th) so I can take advantage of the Half decent dollar rate before it drops again (as it always seem to do when you are going on holiday).0
