I will be delighted if this is considered a genuine legal case, lets hope so.

    Not a hope in hell.

The queen doing her Christmas message naked while breakdancing is more likely.

To find the members of the government specifically liable for criminal acts would require that they specifically intended to have people die, as an active aim of policy.

Ministers do not have ultimate power.
Most of the problems mentioned are due to acts of parliament, voted on and agreed by hundreds of MPs.

I have not signed - I consider calls like this for appeals on grounds doomed to fail not helpful.

Lobby your MP, get them to understand the problems with the system.
Contact the media if your case was very badly handled, or exposes failures in the design of the system.
Appeal every wrong decision to the full extent of the law.
Participate in every government consultation that is relevant.
Make official complaints about every member of staff failing to act with due care.

Trying to argue that IDS/... are criminally responsible - when they are not (morally, yes) is not a useful tactic.
  • @rogerblack I look as if i have lost it, haven't I?
I now read Law section of Guardian, don't need to be a Professional in order to do so just read the damm thing and boy what an education it is proving to be!!!!
I agree with your advice up there. However if there were grounds for a successful Judicial Review well argued one would not say no.
I think the petition is against the POLICY rather than the Politicans who are not listening to professional bodies concerned about the outworkings of discredited WCA and a Coalition hell bent of relieveing people of their benefits REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY HAVE A SUSTAINABLE INCOME OR NOT OR CAN COPE WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD.

  • I myself have already contacted my MP he is well aware of my concerns and has acted on them as a result.
http://benefitscroungingscum.blogspot.co.uk/ is part of a small group of leading activists who are working to see just change to the system.

  • I can't face the news these days except in very small quantities, the disabled are being made to pay for the Tory Bankers lawlessness.

They're already in the pipeline. Here

    e.g.

Can stand and then move more than 1 metre but no more than 20 metres, either aided or unaided. 12 points

    So no more wheelchairs!!!!

    I don't understand your point.
The draft legislation - which I hadn't seen before, thanks - for that descriptor - requires you to be able to stand.
If you cannot stand - and someone permanently in a chair cannot - then they do not qualify under this descriptor.
    They meet part f(i)
    f. Cannot, either aided or unaided, –
    (i) stand; or
(ii) move more than 1 metre.

These regulations are _much_ more generous to those permanently in wheelchairs than the previous draft regulations - as even if you can win a wheelchair marathon - you are still entitled, if you cannot stand.
