I have every intetion of renewing it tomorrow. I couldn't find my insurance certificate which is why there has been a delay.

?? And why would you need that ?? you only need
    • the 16 digit reference number printed in the yellow box on the front of your renewal reminder (Vehicle Licence Application/SORN Declaration form V11) or
    • the 11 digit reference number found on the front of your Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C) and your vehicle registration number
And you can get it online now it will take a few days to get to you.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

Sorry about this group, I do tend to be reasonable about most things but:

FACT: Road Tax is a legal requirement
FACT: If you have an accident and your car is not taxed your insurance is null and void
FACT: Even if the tax is 'in the post' you are not allowed to drive said vehicle without a valid tax disc being displayed
FACT: Yes I would report a car I saw without tax

Here in Long Eaton, Nottingham the police have been sitting almost every day at the end of our road with one of their camera thingies that tells them whether a car is taxed, mot'd and insured. They have been pulling something like 10 cars an hour. They did the same thing in Clifton, Nottingham a few months ago and they had to stop after 1 hour as the amount of cars they pulled filled the village green!

    I do report.

My neighbour last week - they have two cars. One is registered as SORN, but they "share" the tax disc between both cars and use both on the roads.

It doesn't matter whether I agree with the road tax principles or not. It is currently illegal not to display a tax disc

strangest was a 51plate bmw x5 untaxed for several weeks and moved around in rather conspicuous places (on pavement outside corner shop) in my area ,discovered it belonged to a long standing resident.
Remember working for alamo rent a car and the b******s knowingly sent me out in an untaxed car (which i could have got done for)
