  • As stated in my post 27, payments due on 24th, 25th and 26th will be paid today (21st). I've just checked online, and mine and DH's payments (due 24th and 25th) have been paid in and are reflected in the cleared balance. HTH

this might help explain things a little with regards to closed processign dates! these are the clearing dates for bacs payments

    Christmas And New Years 2012/2013
there are 3 non processing dates over the christmas and new year period for all banks bacs processing
These are 25th & 26th December and 1st January (no weekend processing as normal)

If the payment is to arrive in the account on. - The processing date must be

    Monday 24th December - Friday 21st December
    Thursday 27th December - Monday 24th December
    Friday 28th December - Thursday 27th December
    Monday 31st December - Friday 28th December
    Wednesday 2nd January - Monday 31st December
    Thursday 3rd January - Wednesday 2nd January

any bank that needs a payment to clear on a bank holiday day will normally clear the first working day before hand :)

This thread is getting me all tangled up.

My ESA is due January 1st. According to this thread it should hit my account December 31st. But December 31st this year is a bank holiday! (As is January 2nd, see here.) So...what's going on, and when will I actually get it?

No, Monday 31st December is not a Bank Holiday, it's a normal banking day, and 2nd January is only a Bank Holiday if you live in Scotland. The only Bank Holiday in January, is New Years Day. HTH

Well he is most certainly a tool, but if the banks don't need government transfers to clear whats with the whole sign on, on one day and get the money in the bank 3 working days later about then, why does it not go straight in on the same/next day?

I'm not so clever with this benefit thing, i'm a newbie to it all.
Er so they can STOP your benefit if you do not turn up to sign
