Orange Contract

Having taken over as the named person on my mums contract with orange (Previously having 5 phones with the network) mine is the only phone left with orange and now "In my name" and i am being charged monthly.

I have recently taken a cut in pay to become an apprentice and also moved house as a result.

My problem now is that after losing my Iphone 4S, and using a cheap orange handset, I am still paying £36+VAT and will continue to do so until January 2014 and moved into an area with No signal (One bar at best) inside and out. So I am basically paying for an expensive phone which I was led to believe would be covered by Orange Emergency Care, which wasn't as i learned in May this year when i lost my phone but also no coverage. I was hoping that with EE's improved network coverage that it would impact on my signal but didnt.

Now, at the end of my tether with having no signal and struggling to stay in contact with people, I am wanting to terminate my contract with Orange.

Would i be able to do so?

Thankyou, Jake

    In a word, No
  • Yes, but you'll have to repay the remaining balance on the contract.

    I'm afraid not.

No mobile company will guarantee coverage in 100% of the country, and your finances really aren't their problem, a contract is still a contract.

Why was your lost mobile not covered by Orange Care?

Have you been in contact with Orange to discuss your poor signal?

The only things that I could advise is to ask Orange if you can downgrade your tarriff. I'm not 100% sure how this works but have hear people on here say that sometimes it is an option when you are halfway through your contract (which I'm guess ing you will be in Jan 13)
