Exactly that, you knew the price was wrong, rather than a discount, and took advantage of that.

It is one of the few areas consumer law is very clear on. I doubt a court would believe that you didn't know it was an error and bought 43 of them for your grandchildren's Christmas presents...

Occasionally big stores have similar mistakes and will sometimes honour them (I sometimes think it's a publicity stunt, it usually works out cheaper than any advertising).

Fair enough but I am a consumer I buy from large stores all the time - I buy ipods all the time also - lots of them.

Oh well thanks for your feedback everyone.

This is a national company who makes millions in profit for it's shareholders - if it was another seller in the same league as any other person (i.e.not with 900,000+ feedback) I would not even consider it. The consumer gets fleeced all the time by companies like these i have no beef at all at trying to win over these companies. I have no affinity with shareholder and the like they are who screwed this country up and are driving prices up in the first place....

They don't make a profit by selling the iPod touch for £9.99 though do they?

This is going nowhere fast for you I'm afraid.

So you were planning on giving all the Ipods away and had no thoughts of selling any of them?

43 ipods would very rarely be a consumer purchase.

Thanks for stating the obvious I don't think I have a case I know this - but will console myself with the £10 goodwill from Argos.

Once again thanks for the feedback I won't try to get anything for nothing again I realise how wrong I was and that it is wrong to go against the establishment and the big boys (slaps wrist!!)

No sherlock - I would have sold them yes - I don't try to hide this - but I am a consumer yes thank as are you and everyone else.
  • No if you were planning to sell them you are a business not a consumer, regardless of arguing the toss the court would take this view without question.
