Anyone know of any wholesalers to sell on Ebay?

Hi
I don't know if I am posting on the right board - please feel free to move me to a more suitable one - but I am trying to find out if anyone knows of any good wholesalers.
I have a couple of hundred pounds that I was thinking of investing in any items that might sell well on Ebay. I've had a "Google" but most wholesale sites want you to pay for the details. As I say its not a lot of money but I just thought it I could get the right item at the right price, then I might be able to make some money (hopefully more than I would if I left the money in the bank!)
Thanks for your help - in advance!

I don't think anyone on here will provide you with wholesalers. You will have to do your own research.

Definately never pay for a list of wholesalers though. They are out there for free you just need to spend time researching.

There is a magazine - IIRC called 'The Trader' which you can buy in Smiths and lists wholesalers of all sorts. That will enable you to do some research and decide for yourself what lines you can make a good markup on. This should give you the foundations for doing your research and developing your own business ideas.

It's less than a fiver, and on this occasion money well spent IMHO.....:D
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • I paid for membership to a wholesaler - www.wholesalepages.me.uk, as I was spending sooooo much time looking for wholesalers and it seemed the biggest. As a result I have found some really good wholesalers. Before that I looked through https://www.thewholesaler.co.uk - all their wholesalers items were already on eBay. I have also looked at esources.co.uk/.com?? they are real expensive, I looked at a couple of reviews and peeps said they weren't great.

I've also bought a couple of wholesale lists on eBay - that was a mistake. 1 in 3 didn't exist!

One other thing I've tried is finding a prodcut which I want to stock and then searching for its supplier/distributor on google. After not too long searching I usually get there. Often the manufacturers etc. want large orders though so its not practical.

You can also try the wholesale section on Ebay, it tends to be the last place Ebay resellers look and there's often a good chance of picking up a bargain, especially on the bigger no reserve lots.

Sell what you know and not what you think you know. Something you buy regularly and/or know the range of prices of is best. Have a look at a recent purchase, see if you can find the manufacturer, contact them and they'll tell you which wholesalers they supply if they won't supply you themselves.

Also a local Yellow Pages (old fashioned I know, but with google or other internet search engines you'll get sidetracked) is a good place to start, its free and you won't have to travel too far to get to them.

you may want to look out for your local auction houses... bargains to be found there.. just make sure you check the good and estimate what they can be sold for before the auction.
