If the listing doesn't tell you it's fake, then the three negs left by previous buyers saying, "these are fake" might give you a clue.

Just a point to remember about perfume.

My daughter sold some perfume on Ebay recently and the buyer claimed they had not received it.

After going through the normal process of refunds etc to the buyer, my daughter then turned her attention to notifying the Post Office only to be told that all perfumes had to be declared at time of posting and she had no claim.

This she was totally unaware of, so just an example of my daughters experience with the product to be aware of.

The Post Office won't have said this, it's nothing to do with them. The claim decision lies with Royal Mail.
Non flammable perfumes can be posted, advice is on the RM website.
When you post anything at the PO, nothing is noted on the receipt about contents, so how would anyone know what had been "declared"?

Here in my ignorance I thought that the Post Office and Royal Mail worked hand in hand, you learn something every day.

The percentage of our older generation, those who are not computer orinitated, are innocently sending their parcels and are totally unaware of the contents of the RM website.

A sign of the times I guess.
