Is this a fake perfume?

Hi

This advert is for angelina jolie perfume which I have never heard of and can't find anything on google about it.

The seller claims they sell items that are not yet available for general sale.

Is this a fake?

Thanks

It isn't a fake because there isn't a real one that it is a copy of. It is one of those perfumes with names that sound like proper perfumes. It will smell cheap, and will have the same contents as the others of its ilk - they are often sold on stalls in markets.

Google says that there were rumours back in 2008 that Ms Jolie was talking to Coty about launching a perfume, but nothing appears to have happened. The eBay selled concerned has been selling this stuff since at least June 2011 and their entire business appears to consist of nothing else. Could be stock from cancelled product launch.

Or, bearing in mind that most of the world's fine fragrances are manufactured by one of half a dozen or so companies for a few pennies a bottle, just something somebody decided to have made because they thought it would sell.

Perfume is one thing that I would NEVER buy online. Some of the chemicals they put in fakes are eye-watering. Why take such a risk?!?!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I would have thought using her name would have been some sort of trademark infringement.

There's no mention of it on Basenotes, which is the major internet perfume directory. Sounds like it's a 'Sex In [sic] The City' type deal - cheap stuff playing off an established name. You might get lucky and it'll be nice, but don't pay premium prices for it.

Apparently AJ wears Bvlgari Black, which is not remotely girly or floral, so I imagine if she did get to the production stage on that Coty fragrance then it would smell nothing like this one.
  • I'm french, parfum is my life ;)

    100 % fake, for sure...
  • how can it be illegal if there is no "legal" version of the product?
the only offence would be the unauthorised use of AJ's name.
If anyone is stupid enough to pay a fortune for a bit of rose water with someones name on it, they deserved to get ripped off ("legally" or otherwise)
