Has funding for insulation been cut?

I have had an assessment and am due to have my FREE cavity wall and loft insulation fitted on Wednesday. But this morning i got a letter through saying that grant providers have cut all funding and i will not have to pay £248.

I have gone through Tesco but i rang a few more companies today and they all seem to have had the funding cut instantly.

Since i was already booked in to have mine done can they really tell me 2 days before that i now have to pay?

Any advice?

I would think not as the contract has been broken and not by you. Have a read of the contract.

The funding has indeed ended, but they should complete the contract if it has been agreed.
£248 is stili a heavily subsidised price and worth paying if you have to, as you'd get your money back in a year or two at most.

There is no contract at this stage, and anyway even if there was all Tesco terms and conditions state that this offer is only available 'subject to funding'

Then if you have no binding contract, you will either have to pay or do the (loft) work yourself. The funding end has been flagged up for a long time now.
Even at £248 it's heavily subsidised and well worth it.
