Proof of Electoral Register Entry

Hi.

We added our names in August. I believe the register was frozen until 1st December... but it still hasn't been picked up on our credit file.

My local council say they charge £15 for proof of electoral roll inclusion.

Are they allowed to charge for this? How else can I get the reporting agencies to update it?

You will be on the electoral roll from 1 December, but it is usual for it to take 4-5weeks for this information to be updated with the credit reference agencies.

If you check again in a month or so you should find that the agencies show you being on the E/R

Yes they can charge as it is not a statutory service they have to provide.
