Morning all,
Don,t know whats wrong with me at the moment, can,t seem to sleep for more than 4 hours at night, didn,t fo to sleep till 3,ish this morning and up at 6, brain is just doing overtime....
The good bit of that is that I am on the second load of washing and have made 2 dozen scones, 2 steak and ale pies, one for tonight, one for the freezer, I,ve also made a bakewell tart and some more pastry for bacon and onion "pasties":D
Just having a coffee before doing the ironing, as new washing maching is in, its a A+++ so I hope its going to save a few quid in leccy.
Have been thinking about replacing my halogen bulbs (10) with LED ones, but at 6 quid each I don,t know whether its a good investment or not.
Bright and cold here.
Have a fab day all xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Good morning everyone

Molly, your Christmas wreath is beautiful.
Still too busy here to get the tree up and don't feel very Christmassy yet but 12 days to go at work and then the holidays start.
The freezer is still overflowing and DH is so well trained in buying meat bargains that I can't stop him. We appear to have several kilos of mince of various varieties so will start with some pork mince tonight and keep eating mince all week. Pork mince Thai style with rice for dinner and some left over to go in an omelette tomorrow. HM soup for lunch but someone has just told me that the work microwave is broken so may have to resort to some emergency cup soups from my desk.
Still haven't been to Oxfam so the hall and landing are cluttered with bags and boxes, may transfer it all into the car tonight and see if I can make it tomorrow on my way home. The only problem is that they close when they feel like it and it's a bit out of the way and don't want to waste diesel.
Kitchen is sparkling and all cupboards except the dreaded under the sink one are decluttered. That will be done this week but DH can do the emptying because Saturday I went in there for the Stardrops and a huge spider threatened me!
Back to work now so will leave with well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep safe and warm and have a super day

Im the least creative in the world but you dont need to be. You just stick it in anywhere and so MSE as it was all foraged foliage apart from the eucalyptus.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Fwiw, Mr LW and I both wear vari-focals, and neither of us had any trouble at all getting used to them.:o We think they're great!;)Has been a good weekend, had a lovely meal and a few drinks out with friends on Friday night, DH and I went to the next town to collect an ordered item first thing Saturday morning. He then had opticians appointment, he's going to try vari-focals but there was some doubt as to whether they could make vari-focals for him due to his prescription, but they have worked really hard and they can get the correct prescription made up in Germany - so they will be ordering them and we'll see how he goes - vari-focals can take some time to get used to but will be much better for him if he can stick with it.
Molly that wreath is wonderful - I just dragged Mr LW over to the netbook to see it (he's wfh today) and he agrees.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Mince pies and cheese straws are done and are in the freezer.
Tomorrow I think that I will make the gateau and chocolate and chestnut torte, because I found a tin of chestnuts in the cupboard that went out of date at the end of November, so I will use them up.
Molly that's brilliant :T
Judi I would have done the same thing
Islandmaid go for LED.We are replacing ours a couple at a time. DH went on an energy saving course a couple of weeks ago and says that they are the best bulbs around and the bonuses are they don't contain mercury, like the other low voltage ones, they don't take an age to get bright, they use low energy and they last for 40,000 hours.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

BB - thank you for that, where do you buy them I looked on the interweb, but the prices vary like mad, @bay has them for £30 for 10 GU10 LeDs, but that seems too cheap - I think you idea of a couple at a time is wise, I will aim for 2 per monthNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Afternoon all
Been to Bexhill today, and got everything I needed. I have done all my Christmas shopping, but had to get my MIL's things for her. She is 92 and housebound, but all there. She lives on her own, and manages very well.:T
OH and I went to Chichester Cathedral on Friday evening to see a performance of "The Messiah". We usually try and see it somewhere every Christmas. London is too difficult for me these days, but this was a lovely version with the musicians using authentic instruments.:T made me feel all Christmassy!:santa2:
Fwiw and Lame wolf- I wear vari-focals too, but I can't read with them! I have to take them off. Asked my optician if that was okay, and she said she does the same!
Not sure what to have for dinner tonight, any suggestions?I Believe in saving money!!!:T

We had some great regarding ds2, after years of wrangling were finally getting educational assistance for him. So within 12 weeks we've been granted an educational statement:D. Were still in touch CAMHS for ds2's autism but the OT as suggested ADHD might also be a factor so have to have a chat with the paeditrition about it all.
My health has taken a battering and my arthritis causing me lots of painand i haven't been able to walk for a few weeks. So today i got sick and decided to get a wheelchair. Thought right i have to take my boys out for xmas as a family so bit the bullet. The red cross were brill and very helpful would reccommend anyone to use them to hire equipment.
Well going to attempt to make a heart cushion for of my nieces for xmas.

Does anyone have a steam mop? I was looking at them as they claim you don't need detergents and they seem to have really come down in price but the last thing I need is another useless gadget in the cupboard under the stairs so was hoping for some feedback.
It could be a friend for Henry
