I sympathise. The gauge in my 59 plate Toyota Aygo is worse = a smaller black and grey display and fewer bars showing. At least it beeps and flashes when it gets to the final bar. I'm used to it now but always have a 5l can of fuel in the boot just in case.

TBH analogue displays are just as inaccurate

There again, this is a company who produce a car where you have to remove a complete light cluster to replace any of the front bulbs! (Megane 3)

wrong you just take out the inner wheel well guards, renault would like you to think that you have to remove the front bumper and light cluster and charge you for it but all thats requierd is removal of a few srews and retaining clips and the guard drops out. same with the megane 2
  • wrong you just take out the inner wheel well guards

Just? - Thats still quite a large job. Jack car up, on axle stands, wheel off, remove the wheel guards, change the bulb, put the guards back, wheel on again, jack up off stands, remove stands, let car down and then re-tighten bolts a bit more.

    I think you're underestimating that.

I changed both on the Megane II without taking the bumper off.

Both were done from above. Battery cover had to be moved to gain access.

I wasn't talking about the fog lights in the bumper. The main light cluster on a megane 3 needs to be unbolted (with the supplied tool - another joke) and pulled forward to access the rear to change any of the bulbs.

i own a megane 2 and no you dont have to take off the wheel either or jack it up and put on axel stands, and the wheel well guard is in two parts, you remove the front part wich is 2 srews and the rest is rubber gromets holding it on. same can be done with the megane 3 if you choose.
