Does redundancy also mean letting you go and not strictly making redundant?

So you were unreliable, didn't turn up for work when you felt like it, and probably also self certified and claimed SSP so dishonest to boot. Even if you produced absolutely perfect drawings in half the time of all your other colleagues, no way no how could you describe your work as impeccable :rotfl:
I admit I was unreliable. I just claimed sick days, never self certified and didn't claim SSP.
And I wasn't an architect I was a PA. My work was fine thanks.
Won't bother giving you kudos in future.0 -
After this thread and attacks here by a few people I can TOTALLY understand why some people stop coming here.
Already recently I've been accused of claiming SSP dishonestly and about my work.
It seems that a few people when younger didn't do ANYTHING wrong ever in their careers and can't learn.

in my experience good companies don't get rid of good people.
to survive redundancy you have to be a good employee, working for a good company, otherwise.... just lucky.
I was lucky that in my next job I stayed for 6 years, survived 2 rounds of redundancies and was a model employee.
I clashed with a partner at the end of my time there, but then this partner was bullying the office manager etc.
I agree - with the good employee and good company info/quote in this post.0 -
I'd also like to clarify from Mischa's earlier post that I am not - and have never been - an employment lawyer. I work in HR, but on the L&D / talent / performance side, and my ER knowledge is certainly not what a generalist or employment lawyer would have!
Thanks. I had thought you were an employment lawyer.0 -

I wouldn't worry about it Sam. Mischa8 has a short memory, which I don't. I recall exactly what they previously said about my advice. I only answered the post at all because of the lack of anything approaching manners in response to anyone who had already replied - and done so quite correctly!0 -

FYI I was perfectly polite to others in this friend APART from Sambuca. This can be seen from the thread. I merely stated my position.
I don't do sarcasm directed at me - eg from Sambucus, hence my rudeness to her. What part of that don't you get??
Perhaps your memory is going with your retirement eh Sar??0 -

Sarcasm from me? Snipiness from me?
What are you on about?
You asked a question and I answered. If you can't cope with answers that you don't like, then perhaps an internet forum is not the place for you.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Unless you produced a medical certificate signed by a doctor for each time you were off, you DID self certify. The phrase means that you claimed to be sick with no third party verification.
And if you took more than 3 consecutive days off sick ever when you were in fact skiving, you DID also claim SSP, as this is paid automatically after the third day of absence.
Doesn't a PA actually have to be present to do their job then? When my PA phoned in sick as a lawyer it was a right royal pain in the !!! and work piled up in her absence which really needed to be done sooner (temps are limited in what they are able to undertake). So if you were unreliable your work was not fine, sorry. Hence why you were "made redundant"0
