Another piece of advice on these, courtesy of a lady buying her family pass while I was buying mine ...

If you are a family of 4, planning to buy the standard passes, it's well-worth upgrading one pass to a premium pass. By doing this, you can cover all of your car-parking costs for visits during the year.

The cost should be an extra £16 (= £90 family premium pass cost less £74 family standard pass cost). When you consider that car park cost at most of their attractions is £6, this is a good deal. It should also work for a 3 or 5 person family pass.

However, be warned, you might find that the person on the till doesn't know how to do this! The person selling me my pass tried it and initially came up with an extra cost of £47 (as it had changed 1 family standard pass @ £74 to an individual premium pass @ £121). It wasn't until he got help from the person on the next till that it went through as a cost of £16.

I was so grateful to the lady buying her pass at the next till!!

I did this last year on a renewal for a family of 4 but this year they tell me I have to either buy 4 x Premiums or 4 x Standards or if I buy 4 standards I can upgrade one to a premium at a cost of £35 more at an attraction.
priorslee which attraction did you purchase your passes from and I shall try calling again for a my renewal. I would like to pay £312 for my family of 4 renewal inc one premium for free parking.

    Thanks

Would like to know this as well.

We renewed at Chessington yesterday and were charged £35 to upgrade one of the family of 4 Standard passes to a Premium one. I was expecting to pay an extra £16 but instead had to pay for a family of 4 standard passes (£296) PLUS and extra £35.

Last year when we did exactly the same thing we had to pay an extra £16 (the same as priorslee today)

Mind you ... our passes were due to run out on the 7th 2013 but they now run out on 14th Jan 2014 so we somehow managed to get an extra week from somewhere :D

Is there anyway to get the tickets delivered? More than happy to pay the £99 but the nearest attraction is probably a 3 hour round trip from here :(

Tempted to do Tesco clubcard points, but would probably prefer just to spend the £198 for the two of us

    ^ bump :)

Also do the clubcard vouchers ever go on sale? At the moment it's £46.50 per person but I swear I've seen them cheaper than that

In which case, is an annual pass worth it for you?

I think you can order a voucher and then convert the voucher into a pass when you first go.

    Ah, thank you Jimmy!

I'd say it's definitely worth it btw, we plan to hit up all of the theme parks this year and a lot of the attractions in London too (if not all of them) when the weather picks up.

It is a long way to go for any of them, but it's worth it for a day out... less so just to go and pick up the ticket, even though it is a nice saving the petrol cost etc would really narrow the savings
  • Blize the Scottish sea life centre sell the gift vouchers in the sale as they don't have one of the machines. I just got mine up there on holiday but give them a call I'm sure they'll help you out. The gift vouchers aren't in the sale online just the renewal passes. Gift vouchers are way better though as the 12 months won't actually start until your first visit. Result!! Their number is 01631720386
  • Hi The guy from Gweek has helped me and my family. Give them a ring, they also do the gift vouchers, what a great idea. Tel 01326 221361

With a quick google, I think it's the name of a place where the Cornish Seal Santuary is.
