Our family & all we introduce it to love 'Ticket to Ride'. We've played most games but this is one of the best. My son bought it after lots of research & we've gradually added different expansion kits. It's brilliant!
Just looked it up and I am confused even reading the blurb!Saving for our next step up the property ladder0 -

Scattegories is quite amusing but is solely a "word game" (naming things from different categories that begin with a chosen letter from the roll of a die).
I'd agree with MrsDrink about Cranium being a mash-up, but that's exactly why it's fun. It's different things each round!
@MrsDrink ... have a look at Khet for a 2 player game. The first few games are like "errrr ... what just happened??" then you grasp it and realise how clever it is, and how it's a real mind game that requires deep thought!0 -
Taboo is a simple but good fun game.0

A really good game is Ticket to Ride... The original one is based on the USA, but also has Europe one. Its such fun and can be very addictive!"Aunty C McB-Wik"
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

Our family love Balderdash, and a battery operated game where the horses race agains each other on a little track just like tha arcade game, no effort required with that one just pick a colour.

Oh, if I hadn't already got my OH a birthday present I'd get him that! He loves chess and is a typical boy who loves lazers too
