Dual SIM phone OR adapter

Having looked at the various dual-SIM phones available, none of them match the spec of the single SIM models.

I've recently discovered a dual-SIM adapter as per the following link

Has anyone used one of these before? Which would be the best option - Dual Sim phone or adapter?

The important difference between a proper dual sim phone and an adapter is that the phone is dual standby.

Very true, and even some dual SIM phones are not dual standby. Unless both SIM cards are active at the same time (i.e. dual standby), it's no better than manually swapping SIM cards.
