Fitting a shower from scratch

I don't mind as long as it can be boxed in. I could always tile over that.
My friend suggested fitting the shower at the opposite side of the bath as that wall is not tiled and its closer to the electric supply/fuse box. That would need a box to bring it out/further forward which could be used to conceal the plumbing/cabling. This could then be tiled over to blend in with the rest of the tile work.
I have seen this at someone else's house. It seems a bit strange at first but still, it works.

fit it at the tap end, the slope of the bath at the other end will mean you stand too far away from itI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

that's the point of the box - it conceals the plumbing/wires and brings the shower out enough.

I live in a small bungalow with the bolier being in the kitchen next door to the bathroom and the electric fuse box being close again in the second bedroom.
An electric shower has nothing to do with the boiler, the supply will come from the rising main, which may be near the kitchen.
You will need a dedicated circuit running from the CU via an isolator switch. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
ummm boxing, more tiles both buying & labour & a bath that looks like it's buried in the wall (if the boxing is full height & width) compaired to 2 extra meters of 15mm copper & cable, i know which one i'd go forI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

I'm most likely not going to go with the currently discussed option.
However, tiling is not an issue as I have plenty of tiles spare (shop wont take them back as the boxes are slightly damaged now) and I did the tiling myself. Have dont tiling before and I have regular access to any needed tools including electric tile cutter.
The finished job looks fine because as I said, I've seen it someone else's house.
The point of this particular part of the thread is because it would be nice to avoid smashing/removing newly laid tiles. Hopefully there are not too many smashed/removed and I can replace whatever is needed.
Biggest problem I have is getting someone to come and do the job. I don't think it will actually cost that much but I'll probably get stung anyway.

I had an electric shower fitted from scratch a couple of years ago.
Cost (not including shower unit) was £260 which seemed about average.0 -
