  • We got back 20 minutes ago. The meal actually turned out really well and it was lovely seeing everyone. It cost nothing in the end because DH's Uncle insisted on paying, that was his Christmas present to everyone, bless him. And the In - laws were going to pay for the grandchildren so decided to give them £20 each. So I really didn't need to be such a Mizzmogs :o.

Marie positive vibes for SIL x

Off to pour myself a glass of Cointreau and watch a film.

Have a lovely evening everyone x

  • Evening all

Well I have finished my assignments, just need to print them out in work tomorrow ;). Finished just in time to watch Elf, love this film :D.

I didn't get round to doing any cooking or baking or prepping really. Made packed lunch for tomorrow. I had HM veggie chilli from the freezer in wraps for lunch, and HM curry and rice (also from freezer) for tea. I am trying to run down one of my freezers before Xmas! I have 2 small ones and they are almost full now. Next few weeks will be freezer meals and using up the odds n ends in there. I may bake something after the Strictly results.

Hope you have all had a good weekend

    Hi all

Have been a busy bee this weekend, took MIL shopping Sat morning for her to buy her last prezzies.

I then hit Mr L,s and bought LOADS, literally a carboot full, and including a bottle of scotch ( for chrimbo) and 5 packs of half price mince and a dairy full of baking marg and lots of pet food came to less than £75.

I have been reading Froogs blog and have copied and pasted loads (thank you SO much) made Ragu split into 4 family sized portions with 1 pack of mince.
Made SC sweet mincemeat for mince pies, it is yummy.... Its living in the fridge to 'absorb' before making mince pies next weekend.

Today I made froogs faggots, was messy and yukky, but I had all the meat ingredients in the freezer and they taste fab.... Loads left for the freezer too.

Steak and ale in the SC ready for pies tomorrow - made 3 lots of pastry today, sitting in the fridge - pies, pasties and bakewell tart, will also make scones and flapjacks..

Sorry to be so self self self, but i,ve found my OS mo-jo again :)

Hope your all okay, off to read back now x

    evening everyone

Another late post from me. Had a busy weekend cleaned all downstairs including skirting boards, but after the weekend I have all the floors to do again tomorrow thanks to my woofer. Went and chose tree, got it delivered, its now taking over a corner of my lounge, much bigger inside the house than it seemed outside. Its now all decorated and looks lovely and christmasy. Also bought some lights for outside which are draped over the bush in the front garden and looks really bright when lit up. Over next few days I am hoping to sort out upstairs as dd and her dh are coming to stay on Thursday, also got dsd puppy coming to stay friday and saturday so will be like a mad house.

Can remember who mentioned robins in the garden , but I have always thought of them as a sign of good luck. Someone once said to me its a lucky robin and it usually is for me. Sometimes I win a couple of pounds on the lottery, but last week the day before my interview I saw one in the garden, then the next morning just as I was leaving the house for my interview saw one sat on the front garden gate and I got the job so I always think they are lucky.

Molly - Nice to hear you are back home, your wreath sounds lovely that you made.
LW - Glad you have another doggie visitor for company.
Taplady - glad you are feeling better.

Sorry I cant remember much else, I am going to bed in a minute so will say goodnight. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.
