loan scam

has anyone heard of quickloansltd??? they told my mum she had been accepted for a loan of £1500 2 days ago, we have spent these past 2 days trying to sort it out one way or the other but was kept gettting excuse after excuse. yesterday they withdrew £164.00 from my mum's account without her knowing or consent, then they did the same today £158.00, they said it was a mistake and would phone back (yet again). we could not get hold of them again after that.
my mum has been left with no money now as they took her over her limit, how can we sort this out, i feel sick to the stomach myself as am getting increasingly concerned and worried that my mum will do something silly because of this, she's already on medication for depression, i don't want this pushing her over the edge

She must have given them her bank details/card details for them to tell her that they would provide her with a loan.
All you can do is keep calling them to chase up the money. Make a note of all the phone calls and where possible note the names of the people you speak to.
Did they advise her that they would debit her account? What did she think was going to happen when she gave her card details to the company?
If your mother is on medication for her mental health, I do not mean any disrespect when I say this, but your mother may not be of sound mind to be getting further into debt.DEBTFREE AND PROUD!!0 -
well done  i'll never be out of debt me! no, my mum was told no fees or anythingt would be taken until after the loan was issued, you are correct that they did have her bank details/card details as for obvious reasons they are needed.
I thought it was all legit myself but now i'm not so sure, none of it seems to add up or make sense.
I understand where you are coming from with the 'mental health' this has been long term and she is better with her money than what i am
I will make a note of calls made and statements of money taken and if and when it gets refunded.
thank you for your reply please let me know if you hear anything about this company as i can't find anything.

I've a feeling this is one of those Indian based scams.
They ask the victim to pay the first installment up front, then they ask for a further amount for admin reasons.
Then they come up with another reasons for wanting more money.
This goes on until the person finally realises that it's a scam.
If it is such a scam, then unfortunately nothing can really be done as they aren't based in the UK.0 -
Stop being "unsure" Maddy' it most definitely IS a scam. There absolutely is NO loan, there will NEVER be a loan. Get to the bank, TRY to claw the money back and TRY to prevent them taking more.
Nobody will ever ring you offering youa loan, won't happen. They are are all scams0 -
Looking like scam to me. How can they withdraw money from your mom's account without letting her know? What kind of a mistake is this? This is a serious violation to me.AntFrit0

Apples 2 is right. This is a scam, absolutely no doubt. Your Mother's only hope is to close her bank account and open another. Try and get the bank to do a charge back on account of fraud.
Do not be in any doubt - THERE IS NO LOAN!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Its easy when you willingly hand over your card details, just like you do at Amazon.
100% a scam, and your bank wont refund it im afraid.0 -
Thank you everyone, I know it's a scam but a part of me hoping I was wrong
Oh well we live and learn, I''ve already mentioned to my mum about cancelling her card and close account, I certainly don't want them trying to take more, mind you mum can not take out any now either....0 -
it looks like a scam to us. my advice is NEVER give out your bank and debt card details to anyone.
Ring up Anti Fraud Department at your bank to denial the money going out. The Bank has the right to refund you straight away
She is a victim of fraud and a scam.0
