It was obviously a mistake on their part and they should refund you the money if you contact your bank.Debts:

Get in touch with your bank and cancel any CPA set up. Now.
If you havent given them your bank details, then someone else has as they'd have been incredibly lucky to just 'guess' what they were.LBM July 2006. Debt free 01 Sept 12 .. :T

I had HUGE issues with Wonga, someone took out a loan and repaid using MY card. I was down £400, then a week later after cancelling my card and getting a new one, whilst in the process of dealing with wonga to get my money back, it happened again, using my OLD card details, another £500 was taken. I contacted the police who were really helpful. I was in discussions with Natasha cummings at wonga's fraud department. I also contacted my bank to reclaim the money.
The major problem, when you report this to the bank they require wonga to confirm that this money was not owed and was a fraudulant transaction. Because the type of lender wonga is they have more juristiction to take money from your account, incase you do owe them money.
Natasha Cummings informed me that she filled out paper work and faxed it to barclays, barclays had no record! 3 weeks later still no refund. Police were looking into it and Natasha agreed to help the police in their investigations, then she stopped taking police phone calls. I knew someone who works for barclays and they helped me get the paperwork from natasha to refund my money, due to me kicking up a huge internet fuss and on their facebook page. Natashas 'direct fraud line' no longer answers and I got no compensation or appology for being down £900 for 6 WEEKS.
I feel there are certain people like Natasha Cummings who are abusing clients confidentiality and commiting fraud with details obtained through wonga.0 -
This kind of thing should not happen in a Bank. Looking like an unauthorized transaction and your bank should be aware of that. I would recommend you to contact your bank immediately and make them aware about it so this kind of thing does not happen again. Not sure about the 10 pounds which have been already deducted.AntFrit0

It's bad the way they handled it but in all fairness to Wonga, they weren't the ones that created the original problem here, it was the borrower of theirs whom used your card details fraudulently that caused this, I'd be a lot more worried if Wonga just took money from peoples accounts for no reason as opposed to the mistaken belief that you were the one that borrowed the cash from them, as I say, I agree it sounds like they handled it very badly which is another issue.0 -
Its quite simple for Wonga - did they pay out the loan money to the account on the card? If not then don't try and take the money back from there! Its fairly obvious that if someone asks for money to be paid into account X and payments to be taken from account Y there is potential for fraud and/or loss so why permit it!Adventure before Dementia!0
